Hotel Adaria Vera — Hotel in Vera

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights end of August/start of September 2019. It was not my first time, having stayed there previously in 2017. ||||Again, I enjoyed my stay at the Adaria Vera - rooms are extremely spacious, well equipped, with a small fridge included, and furnished in a modern style. The bathroom also is spacious and offers a good shower. ||||The room was a little more worn than when I first stayed, the beds perhaps a little flimsy but OK and the balcony small but acceptable. The hotel this time cost me more than double what I previously paid. However, I was happy overall with the quality of the room. Wifi was free and connection good. I did not find any English channels on the TV. I had a couple of problems during my stay - with the fridge not working at all and the air conditioning workly poorly on my first day. However, these were rectified the following day and the technician was able to offer me helpful advice.||||There is a very good pool area at the Adaria Vera with 2 adult pools and a children's pool, plenty of sun loungers and no need to get up early in order to secure one - largely due to the fact this hotel is patronised mainly by Spaniards - a good thing in my book sice I have a real aversion to English breakfasts and do not wish to see them on holiday.||||On the downside, there are not enough staff at this hotel. The available staff absolutely do their best but they are overworked. The bartender is also responsible for working in the kitchen so you do usually have to wait at the bar for a little while before they attend to you, except during the evening entertainment. Entertainment is again geared to Spaniards - there were 3 flamenco dancers on the night I went. I think I heard bingo on another occasion and I believe some evenings entertainment was aimed at children.||||Buffet breakfast lunch and dinner were available at the hotel. Lunch and dinner cost €15 pp. I did not eat there so cannot comment. Breakfast looked quite good but if you want a proper (non-machine version) coffee to accompany your food, you have to purchase it at the bar. Snacks are available throughout the day.||||I believe the hotel does offer paid parking but I had no real problem finding free parking in the area. A car is desirable, I would say, if staying in this area, as there is not a lot of entertainment and few shops. There are some restaurants/beach bars. It is, however, a great base from which to explore with a car.||||In summary, I recommend this hotel and will probably return when I next visit...

Hotel en muy buena ubicación con respecto a cercanía de la playa, y justo en la entrada de playa mejor en cuanto a que no te hundes nada más entrar y hay menos piedras. A nada que te muevas un poco a derecha o izquierda, cambia. El aparcamiento en la calle es fácil excepto los días de fiesta en Marau Club.

En cuanto a detalles del hotel, hotel normal y familiar a buen precio, con habitaciones dobles, triples y cuádruples según lo esperado para un hotel de playa, animación correcta y muy amables aunque hacen lo que pueden en el poco espacio habilitado que tienen para ello, y es un hotel tranquilo para descansar. El aire acondicionado por la ley absurda del gobierno, no puede bajarse todo lo que quieras y en algún momento se pasa más calor en función de la velocidad de ventilador configurada.

En cuanto al servicio de comidas, tiene mucho margen de mejora en varios aspectos. Las comidas hay días muy buenas y otros demasiado especiadas, en exceso, que son complicadas de digerir, y algo repetitivas en días consecutivos. Tienen cenas temáticas que se agradecen mucho. Aún así, sería bueno una mejora en el servicio de cocina. El horario parece para guiris ya que los platos más top se acaban enseguida y aunque lo sustituyen lo hacen con otros de menos calidad, la plancha la gestionan por lo general muy mal, pocas cantidades teniendo mucho hueco libre y la cierran media hora antes del cierre del bufé.

La misma persona que está en el work, está en la parrilla y es la que tiene que dejar todo para entrar dentro a reponer ingredientes, lo que conlleva una muy mala gestión de la misma. Y aún así, después de faltar la mitad de ingredientes, desaparecer más de 5 minutos para buscarlo, etc, hubo un día que Francisco a las 15:02 (tras estar esperando frente a él con mi pareja desde que faltaban los ingredientes a las 14:50 que no repusieron hasta las 14:57), se negó a hacerme el wok porque en teoría cerraba a las 15:00, cuando apenas le llevaba 1 minutos más de su tiempo. Parecía totalmente desganado con su trabajo, también ese mismo día, minutos antes, hizo una mueca fea a mi pareja y le dijo un “bueno como quieras” algo despectivo cuando le hizo una petición algo especial en su wok ante la falta de ingredientes. Luego, en vez de meterlos en la nevera de nuevo, se fue a fumar al mini patio privado que se ve desde el comedor, y los dejo en medio del comedor hasta mínimo el momento de cierre del mismo.

Por el contrario, Alassane es muy profesional, tiene bien controlada la cocina en todo momento, puntos de cocción para que las cosas no se queden crudas como si pasa con otros cocineros (con el peligro de salmonelosis en el pollo) y gestiona muy bien los diferentes focos al tener que encargarse de todo. Al día siguiente del disgusto con Francisco, Alassane se quedó hasta las 15:10 cumpliendo a la gente que estaba esperando ante una nueva falta de ingredientes y sin ninguna pega en extenderse un poco más siendo consciente de los problemas y la falta de comida por esta escasez que hubo. Al terminar, limpió toda la plancha y guardó los ingredientes restantes rápidamente en vez de dejarlos a la intemperie. También Wendy, que parece que entró de los últimos días, fue muy amable en todo momento y hacía las cantidades adecuadas.

Dicho esto y en resumen, el hotel está bien, a un precio equilibrado, en una zona tranquila y con una animación y espectáculos divertidos. Ahora bien en cuanto a la comida, hay días buenos, dias regulares y días malos. Eso sí, con hambre...

This hotel was quite easy to locate, and a long walk to the beach. Entrance was good for me in my electric wheelchair. The first problem was no w/chair access to the pool area. The adapted room was spacious and they put an extra double bed in for my wife. The bathroom was again large enough to get the w/chair in and move about, but the toilet had only one support bar on the left , and nothing on right hand wall for persons like me who have very limited limbs movement. The spacious shower had no fitted seat and no grab rails at all, as small flimsy stool was in the room but was totally inadequate for anyone at my level of in validity. Very disappointing. The hotel was very good for general use of the w/chair, u tile the dedicated disabled toilet had no assist rails of any type , really awkward for me.
