We stayed here for one night at short notice during a road trip. The hotel is one of the newer Radisson Blu’s and has modern furnishings. We felt very comfortable here.
The hotel is located slightly away from the city center and is separated from the hustle and bustle of Gothenburg by the river. The immediate vicinity of the hotel is largely characterized by office buildings and a few industrial facilities, so you are in a quieter part of the city in the evening hours. As it is only just a kilometer to the other bank as the crow flies, you sometimes have a good view of the much busier part of the city - but without the background noise. There are restaurants and bars just a few minutes' walk away.
Despite the seemingly secluded location, transport links to the other side of the river are generally good and are provided by buses and ferries. The ride into the city only takes a few minutes. There are a few parking spaces in front of the hotel, but these are quickly taken and not quite inexpensive. Alternatively, the parking garage directly opposite the hotel and within sight can be used (“Parkgering Göteborg”). It should be noted that this has mixed reviews. During our stay, nothing bad has happened to our car.
Overall, I can recommend the hotel for those who don't necessarily have to stay in the expensive city center and still want to be well connected to the city. In my opinion, the hotel is a good choice for business travelers. However, parking remains a problem as of mid-2024.
Tip: Use the cost-free ferry 286, which docks right next to the hotel (“Lindholmspiren” station) and offers a direct connection to the...
Read moreA Painful Experience – This is Not Radisson Quality
Our stay at Radisson Gothenburg on the night of December 28th was nothing short of a disaster. As Radisson VIP members, we have come to expect a certain standard of quality and service, but this hotel failed miserably in almost every aspect.
To begin with, the phone in our room was broken, forcing us to go down to the reception every time we needed something—a major inconvenience.
The mattress was so uncomfortable it was laughable; no one, not even a homeless person, could sleep on it. Adding to the discomfort, the heater was tiny and ineffective. The room was freezing, and it took hours to warm up, making it a dreadful night.
Breakfast was an absolute mess. The scene resembled a public free restaurant, with dirty chairs, tables, and cutlery. The food options were the poorest we’ve ever seen, and to top it off, the coffee machine didn’t even have a “cappuccino” option.
The only positive aspect of this stay was the kind staff at the reception, who did their best to help. However, this is clearly a management issue, and they must be held accountable for the appalling conditions. To the reception staff: you deserve better. Please consider working somewhere that values your efforts.
We will be raising a formal complaint through VIP Radisson customer care, as this property does not meet the standards expected of a Radisson hotel. It is an embarrassment to the brand and should not be allowed to carry the Radisson name.
We will never return and strongly advise others not to waste their money, energy, or time at this hotel. Choose another option—you’ll thank...
