Shiro is good place for some good sushi. I wish I could give an extra half star because I've had experiences that were pretty different here. Overall the sushi quality is high and the food tastes good. I would say for the price point I'm disappointed in a few things. The first time I tried Shiro was when it opened, and we had such exceptional service. The staff even told us about their homemade miso broth and it was really something else. The place is very nice, comfortable and has a fun patio as well. Sitting there and enjoying the food actually makes the price point more worth it rather than take away. My take away order did taste good but it wasn't very distinct flavor-wise. The area with the miso accompaniment was covered in gnats that really grossed me out. My soy container was also very sticky and had some dried up sauce all over the bottom of it which also was a less appetizing detail. As with the other fried rolls I've tried there, the roll was very very crunchy which is great, and holds up well for take away. It had an abundance of toppings which makes the sushi feel premium but the flavors of each roll aren't so different from one another. Just the general sense that the fried rolls have tasted a little too close to one another is a bit of a let down. The service of course is not at all like those opening days, but it's generally friendly. One thing I hate at restaurants (totally a personal preference) is ordering on my phone via QR code. I always feel like the service suffers when I must order on my phone. Overall I feel that the prices are higher at Shiro then other sushi places due to the location and general atmosphere. There are comparable rolls at better price points that I prefer for take out. I like Shiro and will be back for dining in.
Edit: We ate here recently and unfortunately the food and lack of attention has brought down my rating. We decided to have take out again and eat something a little different than our usual. We ordered an appetizer, and two mains, a chicken bowl and a beef bowl. Once we picked-up the order we were early and the woman at the register told us they send a text to tell you when your order is ready. She then went to do something else and gave us the first bag with part of the food. When the order was complete the man that packed our second bag realized the woman haven't given us chopsticks, napkins, or soy sauce. When we got home, our appetizer was missing the dipping sauce. The bowls were not very good either, the chicken lacked flavor and the beef bowl was okay. We ate the full beef bowl but couldn't finish the chicken bowl because it was just bland. Our appetizer was very good and crunchy but lacked flavor since the sauce was missing. Shiro gives the impression of being semi-upscale but the blandness of the food is just disappointing, especially at this price point. I would have loved to be a regular at Shiro but I think I'll skip it...

I went to a pretty new sushi 🍥 🍣 place for me!
I looked it up online and since I've been to the original Takame I felt I had to give it a try!
So the decor and atmosphere was nice! I like the style of the place. Modern, intimate, a bit sexy.
The personnel/service was fantastic. I have no complaints! Excellent through and through! 😊
The place was packed, understandably so, valentines day 💖 which is why I have a better understanding of the time it took to get the food.. It was supposed to be 20-30 min. It arrived after 1 hour. So one or two food items were cold.
They were very professional and they did compensate us without having to ask for it. Also a huge star 🌟 in my book!
The food was reasonably priced. Rolls from 85-200:- appetizers, different kinds also from 50-100:-
The drinks 🍹 🍻 was around from 79-160:- which is ok. I would've like a zingha to be better priced than 80:- but that's my personal opinion!!
All in all very pleasant experience with excellent customer service...
Read moreI really liked the restaurant, ordering at the table is very easy through the QR code, and I really appreciated the gluten free options and soy sauce. They also had a vegan, gluten free miso soup self-service station, and it was delicious. The location is also very nice, very colorful. We ordered the 50-piece gluten free sushi menu, and it was very good, but it did take them over an hour to prepare it. Maybe it's due to the large quantity and attention to gluten free, but it would have been nice if the waiter had checked in with us. Also all the people waiting around by the tables on their take away food was a bit annoying, but I understand that the location is not that big. Overall nice experience, would...
