This review is a long time coming basically because we did not want to ruin our trip with negative vibes and then my husband wanted to just forget it. But I feel like the public needs to know. We checked into the hotel and the staff at the front desk were very friendly. They asked if we wanted breakfast and seeing that there were no cafes or restaurants near the hotel; you had to walk a long way or drive to the nearest cafe; we decided on having breakfast at the hotel. The room was small but nice and clean. The view was amazing. The bathroom was clean. Water pressure was great. We came down for breakfast the next morning and no one greeted us. There were literally zero waiters. No seats. Every table was taken. Inside and outside. The food for breakfast was wrap in plastic wraps on multiple plates in one of those ice cream fridges. It did not look appetizing at all. So we decided against having breakfast at the hotel and continue our drive. Upon check out we voiced our desire to not have breakfast and if they could give us a refund of the breakfast money. On hearing this the man at the front desk, an older man, maybe around his 50s or early 60s for very angry. He said they already prepared our portion and we could not cancel at the last minute etc. but we said for the price we paid we expected not just a semi decent breakfast but at least a table to sit at. That’s just a basic requirement. He huffed and puffed and then agreed to refund us. But when there was trouble with the credit cards. He was angry again like it was our fault it was not working and was extremely rude and nasty. My husband has to tell him to “cool his jets”. When you’re in the service industry this should never ever happen. I don’t care what the guests do. You absolutely cannot react the way he did on just a refund. I have to add, having travelled all over the world, we are one of those guest who leave our room clean even if we know it will be cleaned anyway by hotel staff. We never believe in leaving a mess. And basic politeness and kindness is always our attitude everywhere we go so to be confronted with someone this rude and unprofessional was a real shock. Needless to say, we will not be back. As for the breakfast, I think the hotel should really rethink the way breakfast is served. It very easy to correct it. They literally could just look at any other normal hotel and...
Read moreWe did not enjoy our stay at the hotel for our honeymoon. The hotel has beautiful views and is in a quiet location but that is all it has going for it. We had the 5th floor in a room where things didn't work properly. The shower sprayed water out of the pipe at the cracks (soaking the whole floor each use), the toilet seat wasn't straight, the water boiler was broken (but replaced), the toilet paper roll was broke, and the wifi did not reach our room on 2/3 days. WiFi was advertised and even on the ground level didn't work.
The resteraunt was closed for a special event Saturday and then closed on Sunday. We had no mini fridge to store food/leftovers and the closest food was a walk down the hill. In Switzerland many places for food are closed Sundays. We had no air conditioning and no fan to circulate air. When the window was open, we had mosquitos come in (my legs and arms are covered in bites). By the third night, my husband and I did not get any sleep. The bathroom was a very tight fit for one regular sized person. The coffee offered is instant mix even though the have an espresso machine. The hotel doesn't offer a shuttle up the hill from the train, so plan on a 15 minute walk uphill if coming without a car (that's fine, it was advertised as such). Breakfast is a set price and can be paid for extra.
We mentioned our concerns daily to the hotel staff but they had a wedding and could not provide a new room and did not offer any form of compensation.
Overall, we cannot recommend this place for anything more than the view. We did not get sleep and that is the minimum a hotel should provide. We unfortunately won't return. It was a...
Read moreok, where to start... first, don't believe the pictures! The rooms are nothing like them. We had the "pleasure" to land on a room on the top floor during the heat wave in the area. The room was more like a steaming room or sauna, almost unhealthy. There is no air conditioning and the air doesn't flow in the room if you open the windows. You have to open your room door to get some air! It was my fault for not checking the AC situation, but this was difficult to endure. We were able to move to a lower level room that was more bearable, but still super hot. The windows are hard to leave open during the night because of the blinds swinging wildly with the wind. The breakfast/dinning area is also an oven, no AC anywhere in the hotel. We didn't do the breakfast because it looked not very inspiring. Some of the staff at the front desk are very helpful, but the lady that did our check in was less than excited to help us. There's no elevator to the 5th floor, the last floor serviced by the elevator is the 4th, so good luck bringing your stuff since that there's no help. Lastly, there's a f*"'& helicopter spraying pesticides to the nearby fields starting at 6 am. super loud, the fields are so close that you can see the pilot's face! We made our stay there to be nicer because of the great group of friends we had, but would reconsider ever...
