Case di Sotto, House & Breakfast — Hotel in Circolo di Locarno

Mamma Mia this place really deserves its 9.7 rating. It's an old place overlooking the lake that has been completely refurbished by a successful Swiss architect and that is managed by a lovely and very attentionate couple. We were not disappointed! The breakfast is amazing (so many delicious things to choose from its hard to make a choice and that cured meat...oh my!). There were two minor comments from our room but not these two little imperfections could spoil a place so perfect and beautiful (a slightly "noisy" bed in our room and a weird looking mirror in front of the sink preventing a proper shave of you must know...). We hit the jackpot!! Amazing. Tons of character. Yes, the bathroom is in the bedroom which many reviews didn’t like but you can use the big one in the cellar. Go check out the cellar one because it is cool! We had the whole too floor with balcony, porch, sitting room loft view view view! If hot day, close down all windows during day and don’t open again until evening. Will keep cooler than opening windows during the day. Breakfast fantastic . We had bottle of bubbly and pastries waiting for us when we arrived got 2 dinner suggestions . A bit of an uphill walk from top of funicular( this is not free with Swiss pass) e took free bus most of the time (I think the 312 or bus 3?). Get off at case di ditto stop. Best place if you like...

Wir haben eine supertolle Zeit hier im „Case di Sotto“ verbracht und waren gleich 5 Nächte dort – wahrlich ein Traum :-)||Über eine idyllische, alte Steintreppe betritt man das Casa Blu durchs Wohnzimmer. Hieran anschließend kommt – 2 Stufen tiefer – ein kleiner Gang, von welchem die Teeküche, das Bad und – wiederum eine Stufe tiefer – das Schlafzimmer abgeht.||Man merkt überall, dass diese kleine „Wohnung“ aus einem bestehenden „alten“ Tessiner Haus umgebaut wurde, so dass alles wirklich einen tollen Charme versprüht. ||Außer den genannten Zimmern hat das Casa Blu zwei private Balkone sowie eine überdachte Terrasse – allesamt mit sensationellem Blick auf den Lago Maggiore. Wie viele Stunden sind wir abends einfach nur da gesessen und haben die Aussicht genossen – wahrlich ein Traum.||In der Teeküche ist alles Notwendige vorhanden – man kann hier zwar nicht kochen, aber wer will das schon. Es gibt eine Nespresso-Maschine mit genügend Kapseln/Milch/Zucker, die täglich nachgefüllt werden. Ebenso verschiedene Teesorten mitsamt Wasserkocher. Jeweils zwei Kaffee- bzw. Espressotassen sowie Teller oder auch Messer/Gabeln/Kaffeelöffel sind genauso vorhanden, wie Spülmittel, Küchenrolle, täglich 2 kleine Wasserflaschen und noch vieles mehr.||Das Bad ist etwas „tricky“ bzw. geteilt: Das Waschbecken befindet sich quasi im Flur, dahinter anschließend das WC sowie die Dusche – Achtung: Hier gibt es keine Türe. Ist aber kein größeres Problem – man hat genügend Ausweichmöglichkeiten, um quasi kurz zu entschwinden.||Im Schlafzimmer kann man bereits vom Bett aus den atemberaubenden Blick auf den See genießen – super schön.||Nicht minder wichtig ist das kleine aber feine Frühstücksbuffet, welches von Sabrina täglich liebevoll zubereitet wird. Rühr- oder Spiegelei kann man extra dazu bestellen. So kann jeder Tag beginnen.||Auch wenn der Preis für uns Deutsche natürlich kein Schnäppchen ist, hat sich wahrlich jeder Franken bzw. Euro gelohnt. Wir hatten 5 traumhafte Tage – ohne das Case di Sotto mitsamt Sabrina (sowie Livio) wäre unser Urlaub nur halb so schön gewesen....
