I understand that the WEF conference in Davos books up nearly a year in advance, so as soon as the dates were published for the January 2025 meeting, I booked a room for my executive on January 29, 2024 using the Hyatt website. He has Globalist status with Hyatt, so he is supposed to be guaranteed a room.||The reservation remained in good standing until Christmas Eve, when the GM of the hotel, Jamie, said he would have to cancel the reservation due to the WEF conference. He said this was a "known glitch" in their system...yet he waited until 3 weeks prior to the conference to cancel it, rather than give enough notice to me to find another booking for my executive.||Jamie also admitted to me - in writing - that there was a room available, but rather than honor the existing reservation, he would SELL it for 12,000 CHF per night (over $13,000 USD per night!). ||Instead of enjoying the holidays, the executive and I spent a week battling with Jamie and Hyatt Corporate, trying to keep the reservation in place, only to have them cancel it anyway - on New Years Day. The only solution they would offer was the nearest Hyatt property, which is over an hour away - and without any offer of a discount for our trouble.||We ended up getting the executive a room at the Grandhotel Bad Ragaz, which is a 45 minute drive from Davos, and he will travel 90 minutes each day in order to attend the conference, and that's only if the weather is good on the mountain roads.||I also made a reservation back on January 29, 2024 for myself at a different, non-Hyatt property, but that property was kind enough to let me know 4 months in advance that they could not honor the reservation during the week of the WEF conference. This allowed me plenty of time to adjust my itinerary.||The Hotel FLÜELA Davos could not be bothered to offer the same courtesy - even after admitting it was a "known glitch."||In short, I wouldn't recommend making a reservation at this property, as the management feels they can cancel your reservation at any time and...
Read moreAbsolutely terrific hotel, from the moment you step in to the moment you leave. The only thing we missed were more days in our weekend to enjoy it more.
The standard room is spacious and classy, while also enjoying some modern amenities like a waterfall shower and illuminated closets. Everything is in top-notch shape, and I personally can appreciate the attention to detail for preparing the bed (this is uncommon in Swiss hotels) and the welcome fruit bowl, chocolates and bottled water.
The cocktail bar is cozy and serves great drinks, including some very nice winter cocktails to enjoy during live music.
Breakfast is served at your table as platters of cheese, fruit, salmon and cold cuts, with a selection of bread and spreads. A selection of warm dishes can be chosen from the menu, including omelette, poached eggs, American pancakes and more. The dining area is rustic, accompanied with live music and like everything at Rixos Fluela, always chic.
The indoor pool is quite sizable with wooden flooring and a lovely waterfall, very pleasant for a soak. Be sure to enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi in the winter! You will love it!!
I only briefly explored the spa to lounge in the relaxation room with a pot of tea. There are three saunas, plus another in a separate building near the jacuzzi, and showers.
Rixos Fluela Davos is incredible, and I especially enjoyed the comfort and hospitality! Thank you for a...
Read moreThe owner should pay attention to the staff. We were checked into a room with an old window from which it was blowing and no working heating radiator. At first we didn’t understand why it was so cold. We had to find the reason ourselves, which means the number was not ready for the task. We went to the reception and reported the problem, to which we were told “have you tried to repair it yourself...” We answered no. Then we were given another room in which I waited for about 10 minutes for hot water…. From 6 here is another story... We returned from a walk to the hotel at about 12 o'clock in the morning, our place was occupied by other cars... We were in hopelessness, when it was cold all over our bodies, we began to look for parking on our own... Early in the morning, after everything we had experienced, the woman says “How your vacation"? We were a little cold and would have to pay for the package. To which she replied “yes, I know,” no apology, no sweet voice... After all, she is the face of this hotel. I don't want to go back there. I am writing this only for the owner, I will delete it later so that it does not spoil the rating. I know how difficult it is to find staff. The waiters in the...
