While I usually wait until a hotel stay is finished, I felt that the only 2 star review currently on TripAdvisor is the work of a jealous competitor and I wanted to set the record straight. I am currently staying at the Residence Inn Geneva City Nations and I cannot even begin to say how amazing this hotel is. This is a new location, I know it's not traditional European but the rooms are very clean and you have all you need to feel at home. The bathroom and shower are big and comfortable. The included breakfast is delicious, there's absolutely no reason to skip it and go somewhere else. Lots of choices including hot options, fresh fruit and charcuterie. More than everything else that's positive, the staff is always what makes or breaks an establishment and the staff here totally makes the place. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, I never felt I was a bother to ask about the city or anything. Totally worth every penny, in fact with prices so affordable, why even go anywhere else when you get treated so well here. No it's not downtown, but it's a 10 minute drive away or just grab a taxi so you're free to wander around without the hassle of parking in the old city. And believe me, the staff, price and overall comfort more than make up for...
Read moreThis Residence Inn is very new (opened in Nov 2024?) and it shows. We booked a king bed with terrace and it was well worth it. The view (admittedly over some buildings) of the lake, fountain, and surrounding mountains was lovely, and the terrace faces south which meant we were happily sitting out there during the day in early March with no coats. ||The space was well designed, and everything worked exactly as it should. We found the room to be large, and the space included a desk, a large tv, a couch, and kitchenette stocked with everything you would need for simple meals. We had pasta & salad one night, the ingredients for which we bought at a local Coop grocery store, a 15 min walk away. The breakfast buffet was simple but delicious and plentiful with coffee & tea available 24/7. There are two laundry units in the basement which were easy to use and cost CHF 6 per load which included laundry soap provided.||The lobby includes pleasant soft seating if a break from your room is needed. It’s 10 minutes from the airport, and an easy 45 min walk down hill to the city center, but there is also a convenient bus. The staff was extremely pleasant and explained the laundry and arranged for a taxi to the airport for us. I would absolutely...
Read moreI really want to give this hotel 4* but they're still working out some glitches. I will stay here again but unfortunately th building itself did not earn 4*s yet the staff did. More below.... Rooms are nice and equipped with nice kitchenettes and comfy beds. The fitness center is well equipped. Breakfasts are great with lots of good options. Location is in a quiet neighborhood which I appreciate, easy transit access within 5-10mim walks. Grey also provide the Geneva Transportation Pass so you can travel for free within Geneva. However this is not well noted on the website or anywhere else and I had to call to confirm they participate. Reasons for the reduction in stars: The power in my room went out in the middle of the night after the lights flashed a bit during the evening. My shower had an empty shower gel container. And most importantly the hotel seems understaffed.
The people who work here are fantastic and very helpful and kind but they seemed stretched. When I called the front desk it rang for a good minute before I finally went to the lobby for help. It feels like they expect the front desk to...
