Don't stay here. Some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Like telling us before we arrived that the restaurant was open until 10 PM. We walked into the restaurant at 9:20 PM and were told by an extraordinarily rude woman (who was opening a bottle of wine for her and her friend) that they were closed, and that you had to order food in advance. When we talked to the front desk guy (who had told us we could eat in the restaurant) he just shrugged and said, "Oh yeah, it's closed." When we pointed out that he had TOLD us 10 minutes before that we could eat in there, he just gave that classic European shrug and said "Ehhhh." Rooms weren't great either: exactly ONE electrical outlet per room. Stay in Brig and take the train down to Zermatt: this place...
Read moreI don't know what this hotel has 3 stars for. The rooms are clean, but everything is decorated at a low cost. Only the ground floor where breakfast and the lobby are looks atmospheric. The bathrooms look like a cheap flat, even though they are well-kept I would require more than a shower curtain. The plus points are definitely the location and the staff who are very friendly, although our towels were not always changed. Overall the place is ok if you are planning a budget trip, but why the 3 stars? I don't know. The TVs in the rooms are the size of a large tablet, no fridges, plastic cheapest chairs on the balconies. You won't eat anything warm for breakfast except cocoa and frozen bread toast. It was ok, but I was a bit disappointed. I give 3 stars, as many as...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights in this lovely hotel in Tasch, just a short train ride to the magnificent town of Zermatt. In a secluded valley in the quaint town of Tasch, there were alps all around, and they probably don't see the sun in winter. The hotel was great, full of old world charm. We were there in mid summer, so the open fire and sauna and heated pool would have been more appreciated in winter.the pool was wonderful, and had all amenities. We had a lovely balcony on the first floor, and a lovely room, and even think they had free parking if you are driving. Was only a 5 minute walk to the train station to Zermatt, and the Glacier Express that we rode on after our stay in Tasch. Would be a wonderful place to spend some more time to just enjoy what nature...
