Grand Forward Hotel — Hotel in New Taipei

I will try to be fair. Staff is polite but numb. Room is ok but the sound proof is zero, could hear other people in near by rooms using their toilet etc.. Asked to change room for higher floor which they gave me because the sound of the street which is highly busy is constant, even at night. Humidity in the room was terrible, all my windows were wet everyday, they had to put a dehumidifierr in my room but didn't help, both room I stayed had the same problem. AC in bedroom and gym very weak. Breakfast is a buffet but very soso. Gym is nice but kids sometimes will come in and play around even thought the signs on the door says no kids allowed.. Hotel location is near by a subway station but still too far from downtown, once you go back to the hotel from outing you feel exhausted thinking of going anywhere else. Convenient store near by the hotel but extremely busy all the time, in 2 weeks almost eating somethingthere everyday, I couldn't seat inside...

Room was great, location is conveniently located next to 附中 station.

However unpleasant experience upon reaching because 1 of the staff helped to remove our 2pc of luggages from the boot and left 1 cake in a bright yellow plastic bag in the cab. Isn't it normal to clear the boot? Or ask whether that leftover thing belongs to us? They stood next to our 2pcs luggages and asked if we had 2pcs? We said yes because when asked at that instant moment we cannot recall everything we had with us!

They called the driver, driver said we had to pay his fare back to the hotel to return us. But because we were in a rush to a meeting, we gave up the 30min wait and the extra cost. Fortunately it's something we can give up.

It's definitely disappointing. They only had 1 job, that was to clear the boot, and they failed. I would suggest they asked visitors to take a look before...

The rooms are spacious and quite clean. The staff are responsive and always ready to assist. The location is good, just 3mins walk to fuzhong metro station but the location is city fringe. the building is quite dated so the lift has no access card security. The breakfast is good, wide variety of Taiwanese style food like fried rice noodle, pork, fish slices cooked in Taiwanese style. There’s also seasonal fruits and some continental items. The bed is firm and they offer different types of pillows like feature and foam, the foam offers better support. However, there’s oil smell on the pillow so I suspect they didn’t wash it well. There are some coin operated laundry machine and water refill station at the basement. There are convenient stores nearby, night market 10mins walk but a boring one. Overall a...
