My parents and I walked by Master Chen Hotpot and noticed it was really busy so we decided to go inside and check it out. I’m so glad we did!
The initial server did not speak English but she got someone for us who did. Her name was Joanne and she was incredibly helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome. She explained how the restaurant worked and gave us a tour of all the meats so we would know what everything was. The soups were delicious (one spicy and one clear broth), the meats were good quality, there were plenty of delicious mushrooms, vegetables and meatballs and the restaurant was clean. Joanne even came over during our meal to tell us about some more traditional Taiwanese foods, like Ma Chi and fried dough and showed us how to cook those too.
During our meal when we went up to get food Joanne was there to make sure we didn’t need anything else and that we were enjoying ourselves. We are from Canada and do not speak Mandarin or Taiwanese so it can be very difficult in Taichung to eat comfortably at restaurants. We had a great experience.
There were also plenty of drinks (pop and tea) and delicious ice cream as well. I would highly recommend this place!

Read more【回應業主回應】哇~沒想到去年1月寫完評價,過一年半商家竟然來評價了呀,你們自認為是瞎掰,但我和家人可是深深記得上桌後半小時火鍋湯都不給,時間還沒到卻頻頻催的催狂魔的態度呢。因為從來沒有吃過一家店是這樣,我們很愛吃麻辣鍋,所以聊天到麻辣鍋店好幾次都會想到你們店家的奇怪行為耶。但我們沒有繼續生氣了喔,除了當天不爽之外,之後也就算了頂多不去吃,只是店家真的太奇葩,每次聊到這次要去哪家吃時,大家都大笑說去哪家都可以就是不要陳師傅哈哈!!
【重點總結】:火鍋湯底過36分鐘才到,但限制用餐前17分鐘就會開始趕人,實際能食用時間短,肉片多是碎屑塊且不補料,湯頭鴨血尚可,對兩人位者特別不友善
7年前曾經給過這家店一個機會 因為PTT台中版鄉民蠻推的,大部份的時候台中版推的東西吃過都不錯
但實際到了,食材部分覺得有點過譽 湯頭部分,就是普通的有點小小的死直、死鹹 (但很多店家都這樣,通常加一點蛤蠣之類就能稍微調和,所以不強求,畢竟價位還算是平價)
鴨血就是和菜市場買的差不多,不嫩但也不會太硬尚可 料的部分就和自己家裡去家樂福大潤發等大賣場買料回家煮火鍋差不多 憑良心講是不難吃、OK吃只是從這就有點不理解被某些人激推的原因 給料部分也不像是鄉民講的很大方補料,才七八點多就是一直撿底部的碎肉,沒有完整的肉片可吃失去了吃鍋的爽快。
~以上這些其實也不想計較,畢竟出來吃鍋就是開心,有吃到就好~
但最讓我們在意的一點,就是火鍋湯真的遲到太久 我們訂晚上7點的位子,但火鍋湯超過半小時,到7:36分才送到 扣除最先開始的講話入座通知的1分鐘,等於等一個火鍋湯就要35分鐘 而偏偏火鍋又不像其他類食物,有東西沒來可以先吃其他的東西 我們兩個人夾完料就是乾巴巴的空等,中間也4個店員的人經過,也有和店員催過了,就是沒有人想要幫我們上火鍋湯 ...
