Reception for check in is on floor 10. Good amenities in the room, including daily complementary bottles of water. Fridge on the, so you can chill the water for when you go out in the heat. Everything you need -shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrush, hair band, hair brush, razor, shaving cream, floss stick, cotton buds, facial cotton pads, shower cap, body lotion is provided in the bathroom.
Two types of Chinese tea is provided along with two different coffee bags. Kettle and cups are in the drawer with a bamboo tray on the surface with the tea set. Puffed rice biscuits (which were delicious) were sometimes left with the tea set.
Comfortable bed and choice of pillows (you can request at reception- see one of the round plastic signs hanging on the wall). Unfortunately there is a quite a bright night light(comes.on when you switch off bathroom/toilet lights) that I couldn't figure out how to switch off, so used the table with a newspaper to occlude it. During the day, good amount of sunlight coming in, and at night, lots of lighting options.
Breakfast was daily changing range of Western and Taiwanese selection, including a "noodle corner". There was a pastry and bread section, a warm food section, salad bar and fruit area. A good range of juices, tea and coffee machine to make lattes, Americano etc.... There was also soya milk( unsweetened), with honey (pastry section)or sugar (tea section)available to sweeten it if you wished. Small pots of yoghurt with fruit compote was available near the salad bar. I enjoyed the rice porridge with the various condiments available. It's busier on the weekends, so you might have to wait for a table, but they will call your room when the table is available.
Friendly, helpful staff, with decent English to deal with our requests and questions.
Brown line station is closest, but the blue line station which is about 8-10 minutes walk away is more convenient for getting into town. Staff will help order a taxi and write the destination in Chinese for you to show the driver, if needed.
Contrary to what the driver said, there are quite a few places to eat locally. An excellent Japanese restaurant 1min away(it was so good, we went there twice), and lots of restaurants at the next door financial centre, with more near the nangang exhibition centre.
Smallish gym, with threadmill and cycling machine, water and towels available.
They have little plastic disc sign to leave on the bed if you are happy to keep the same sheets to save washing/wastage- better for the environment, and also oneto encourage you to hang towels on rack and reuse them and be more environmentally friendly.
Laundry was done within the day, and shirts came back folded with a paper collar support that had a cute bow tie-nice touch. You have the option of the laundry folded or hung up on hangers.
Overall, happy with the facilities and service. Location wise is pretty good. Nearby family Mart downstairs and round corner, or a big hypermart carrefour...
Read moreA very chic modern aesthetic business hotel situated in the IT/Business District. Conveniently located near 2 MRT stations which makes traveling to and from a breeze.
I stayed in a double room on the 16th floor and the bathroom is the basic enclosed shower and toilet, but with a Japanese style bidet.
There are ample breakfast choices at their soft kitchen on the 10F which also serves as their Front Desk. There’s also an illy store if the free coffee is not to your liking. They changed the meals and fruit juices during the 2 breakfasts I had there, so I guess no repeated menu (except for the staple bread and cereals) for those staying a bit longer.
I didn’t have much interaction with their staff since I was most of the time out with my tour group, but they have been very diligent and accommodating. I put a DND sign on my door when I left for the tour and they contacted our tour guide to ask if they don’t have to clean my room which was the main reason why I put the sign as my stuff was everywhere because of a broken suitcase.
If you’re looking for street food, then head to Rao He Night Market in 3 easy transfers from Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (BL 23) to Nangang (BL 22) then transfer to Songshan TRA (2A).
There’s also a Chun Shui Tang branch (the original milk tea) on the building next door (I think it was CBTL) for boba lovers out there. I did experience a bit of a communication barrier though, big thanks to the helpful locals who were dining there.
Is this hotel a good choice? I guess depending on your need. As a tourist, I would have preferred the Ximending Area, but it’s still good as I was able to visit Rao He Night Market.
My only CON is the noisy bed frame that keeps on moving whenever I change sleeping position. They should put a stopper on the 4 posts or a carpet underneath to keep...
Read moreI had an exceptional stay with my husband at The Taipei Place. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, it was evident that they prioritize both comfort and sustainability. One of the main reasons we chose The Taipei Place was its commitment to sustainability and its environmental certifications.
Also the great location couldn't have been more convenient. Situated nearly the Nangang Exhibition Center in 1 min by walk. We had easy access to key attractions, such as Taipei Music Center, Trash Kitchen in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park...etc.
Overall, our stay at The Taipei Place exceeded my expectations. It's a true gem for travelers who want to experience the city from a central and convenient location. Highly recommend it to all travelers who from...
