Guide Hotel - Taoyuan FuXing — Hotel in Taoyuan City

Please do NOT get fool by their pictures. It is an absolute wrong hotel rating. Once we walked in their lobby, we could smell cigarettes smoke. The server lady denied it, saying it is by law not to smoke inside hotel now. But when we walked in the room, there were ashtray placed outside window. The room we stayed, once we pressed the dresser then looked at the floor surface, we saw 1 cockroach came out. Every press we did, 1 roach will come. Sometimes, mother came with 1 or 2 roaches baby. We pushed the bed cover, couple of roaches were inside the cover! Even on corridor. When we asked the desk, they acknowledged about those cockroaches and willing to offer us on right wing. When we checked the room, put the card inside the slot, guess who came to welcome us once the lights lit on, cockroaches family. They charged us one night stay, but tell us to cancel booking, so i did. WRONG! Once, we cancel, we could NOT write any review!!! The room and furniture liked 1960ish. We moved out right away, they wouldn't refund the whole booking. We moved to same hotel rating, but oh geez, totally heaven and hell rating. Whomever rating this hotel didn't do proper job. I only read the reviews on the way to the hotel, and they all had one common word "cockroaches" in their review. Thankfully, I didn't see any in the hotel room we got, but the hotel room is still quite dusty. The hotel staff mentioned in the reviews that its an old building, which I understand. But they could certainly keep it as clean as possible. The couch in our hotel room had an old used contact lens... so clearly they didn't bother to clean it good enough. Furniture cushions had lots of dust underneath. Old building or not, this all could've been looked into, which clearly the hotel isn't interested in, but hey, you get what you pay for.

However, it was a good location. You can walk 20 minutes to the nearest night market. There are also lots of stalls nearby so its not too shabby. We picked this hotel because we had a 13 hour layover, so we needed to be near the airport, and it was 20 minutes away from airport so it was...

We arrived at night, so the check-in was very difficult as everything is automated. We had to call and have a customer service rep call us back to walk us through the whole hour process as this was so unfamiliar to us. No one will check on you. You can request your room to be cleaned every 3 days. And, If you want towels, etc, you will have to call customer service to call the maid to bring towels etc. Put trash outside your door and the maid will dump it in the morning. Be sure to set up Uber Eats so you can have food delivered. You will be a 5-10 minute walk to a small mall and cinema.
