Hotelday+ Sun Moon Lake — Hotel in Yuchi Township

The staff are helpful and nice. The lobby is filled with traditional Chinese furniture, also with a special musical instrument. There is a very cute statue welcoming guests which is actually a post box. Hotelday having a very nice thought by giving a postcard to guests. They will then send out a postcard a year later to guests address to reminisce the happy moments. There are a few cute stamps for us to add on to the postcard. The suite room is very clean and having a very nice lake view, 2 tatami beds and 1 big bed. There is a Japanese style table and chairs at the corner of the room. The toilet is opposite of the bathroom and no lock so need to do some planning before shower. Good is the wash basin is still accessible when toilet and bathroom are occupied. The hotel breakfast has a small spread of buffet and with an out of 3 choices of main dish but offered the same main dishes during my 2 nights stay. Chosen porridge which is yummy and refillable. Hotel provided supper at 830pm but spread is very limited and under supply to the guests so we gave up that the next night. Pros: Right across from Wen Wu Temple. Great view from the cafe if you're getting breakfast there.

Cons: Our toilet wasn't flushing so we called someone to come fix it twice and they never showed up, we ended up just using the bathroom in the lobby and the bathroom in the temple across the street.

Was excited to be on the 3rd floor when they gave us our room, but turns out most rooms are in the lower level / basement. They label their lobby as 4th floor, so our floor is actually in the lower level.

There were noticeable cobwebs everywhere throughout the hotel, starting from the sculptures they have right in front of the entrance, seems like something they can cleaned easily.

The walls are super thin, you can hear other guest in the next room talking, babies crying, and water pipes are loud when other people are using...

We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights in September 2025. We originally thought we picked a good hotel as the reviews looked fine.

Breakfast options were good and they provided snacks after 8:30pm.

Sadly, we got bed bug bites here which was quite a stressful experience. The remaining trip became a mess and we were not able to enjoy our trip afterwards. We went the doctor and they confirmed it was bed bug bites, we went back and forth to laundromat, and we were just so confused what to do. The itch and discomfort from the rashes are quite bad and was unbearable for...
