I would definitely recommend not staying at this hostel for the following reasons: I was attacked by bed bugs in the first room I stayed at. When I found a bed bug and showed management, they moved me to a second room. I was attacked by bed bugs in this room as well and was moved to a different floor where I finally found a bed bug free room. Management helped me clean all of my bags the next day and seemed like they didn’t know about the bed bugs at first, so I will give them some credit. In the process of cleaning my clothing, they somehow created a massive grease stain in my favorite shirt. This probably happened because the place they dry clothing is partially in their kitchen. The staff was not sympathetic at all when I showed them my stain. the water inexplicably was turned off during the entire day on all three days. This meant toilets went I flushed until evening. Very gross. this is the single loudest accommodation I have ever had while traveling. Between the nonstop rumble of traffic and music, I barely got any sleep. a group of locals who are seemingly affiliated with the hotel sit on the doorstep and absolutely berate anyone who exits the hostel trying to get them...

The staff is nice. All spaces are cleaned often. The location is conveniently central. The price is affordable.

However, BIG problem with BEDBUGS. Several rooms have bed bugs and they need to fomigate the hostel, clean the bed sheets at 90 degrees celcius and possibly change the mattresses. We got bitten the first night and changed room two times until we thought we had found a room free from bugs - until we got again bitten the last night and decided to leave. Since the first night, nothing was done. The rooms weren’t closed and no team to fumigate was called. The way the manager handled our complain was absolutely unacceptable. She was desrespectful, leaving us alone in the reception without answers, and shows she is not ready to work with international standards. The hostel showed no interest or support when I showed my body covered in bites. “We’re sorry”, was the only answer with no further support or elaboration provided. The treatment we received is not acceptable. In a normal place, we would have been offered help to buy a cream or skin treatment and the refund of at least one of the 6 nights we spent in the hostel. For the price it was an okay hostel. 8 dollars for a dorm and the same price for a singel, though the singel rooms are TINY! The food in the restaurant is not very good and definatly over priced but it's a good location and close to good restaurants. The staff is nice and helpful and if you havnt booked your safari just ask someone that works in the restaurant and they will call someone. Do that and then get an estimate price. Ask around what other people paid and then HAGGLE! I got a really good price this way and the tour I did which i booked with the guy the waiter called was great. The rooms are really nice and it has soft beds and fans. Biggest downside is the Wi-Fi. It goes on and off and is not very fast. But this is what it's like at basically all hostels in Tanz. Go but a Vodacom SIM card for like 1000 shilling and top it up with some money and you are good. Mostly if u need it for booking, it's nice to just relax without Wi-Fi at the really nice...
