I stayed in this hotel a night before safari (#108) and a night after (#310). It has central location and a modern building. Manager Patrick was very friendly and allowed me using his office (computer) for booking my flight. ||There were a few issues with amenities. Lift (elevator) doesn't work, remember, Room#108 is actually on third floor and #310 on the 5th floor. In Room#108 shower was too hot -no temp control. There was some 'flushing' or 'gushing' sound all night coming from somewhere in the bathroom that I couldn't sleep. I think they knew this issue since I saw false ceiling of bathroom removed (see pic). During next visit they gave me #310- no light in the room! Besides, lack of towels, shampoo or lotion, water, wifi, cable were other common issues. Unless you go in peak season- restaurent starts for your order from scratch...it takes hour!||First time rate was $50, next time negotiated to $40, I am sure locals get around $25. Anyway, I liked it location, building, even internal color theme was good, and plenty of cabinets for your luggage (see second pic). Breakfast (buffet) was nice and fast. My second room even...
Read moreOne of the worst hotels I ever stayed at. We booked it for the night before and the night after the safari to National parks and right when we walked in the room we already regretted. ||In the 1st room we had: no 2nd towel, no trashcan, no tv working, broken curtains, cold room. The "great" thing about it is that in order to have hot water you have to let it run for 20-25 min. Good job with water shortages here. When we came to the restaurant, they gave us the menu and the first several things we tried to order from the menu they said they don't have or it would take an hour to cook (apparently even rice they said takes an hour to cook). So we ordered simple chicken sandwich. + The internet which is available only in the restaurant didn't work. ||For the 2nd night after the safari it was a little better. Although (in a new room) still one towel to start with, broken TV, broken curtains and for the water to get hot it took around 15min. The restaurant was also a little better this time: it was a buffet of one dish :)||For $90 it...
Read moreWe are a couple and we have stayed at the Joshmal Hotel before an early bus departure in June 2013. It was the best place to be as it is near the central bus station in Arusha. The price are very good value, the room in spick-and-span and offer a great view on Mount Meru and Arusha town. It is located 400 meters from the excellent Big and Bite Indian Restaurant for dinner. As we were leaving early (at 5:30 am), the hotel chief made us two lunch box for our breakfast in the bus without charge. This is not a relaxing place to be as Arusha is just a crazy town, but it is a good place if you need to be downtown. We recommend...
