Ryan's Bay Hotel — Hotel in Mwanza Region

Just stayed for 1 night before catching my flight to Dar es Salaam and then onto Australia. There are so many things about Ryan’s Bay that make it my first choice in Mwanza. The staff are so kind and attentive, always asking if I need anything. The rates are reasonable, the room was very clean with an exceptionally comfy bed and an awesome shower (the 2 big ticks when I’m staying somewhere), the view of Lake Victoria overlooking the pool is super relaxing. No the food!! Last night I others roasted chicken in cashew curry sauce. It was awesome, a flavour I had never tried but I loved it and will definitely have it again when I return. I stayed here for a month in 2015 for work. The pictures of the facilities were nice but the upkeep was not very good: there were ants everywhere and when it rained water poured in through the sliders on the porches (given the floor was tiled it meant it was very slippery if you tried to get up). However, the worst part of the stay was the staff. They treated me (and from what I saw they treated others) as ATM machines - they would smile if it meant it got them more money. The experiences I had with the staff made me feel unsafe and threatened - they were going to get money and tips no matter what it took - and I have not stayed there again when I have returned to...

Was scheduled to arrive on October 06, 2024, to Mwanza, on Precision Air. We arrived in Kilimanjaro on Oct 5. Precision Air decided to cancel our flight to Mwanza for Oct. 6. We contacted Orbitz. Orbitz tried really hard to contact Ryan's Bay, but they kept saying that the head manager was not in. Ryan's Bay decided to keep the entire week's reservation pay and still rent out the room we had. This hotel is run by greedy people with no soul. As if I could've flown the plane myself. Our vacation was saved by Kamber Manji of Nature's Land Safaris.
