We stayed here 3 nights 4 days as part of our honeymoon trip to Zanzibar.
First of all, they put us in a room where the air conditioning didn't work well (started leaking and kept turning off itself). We told the staff next day but staff said they fixed it. Unfortunately, they didn't, and they made it worse by breaking the AC and told us if we were okay without it. It's absolutely crazy to think we will be okay when it's +30C degrees outside with humidity. It took them 3 days to fix it. Very poor indeed. They kept lying to us, which is really disappointing and annoying. I don't think the staff really appreciate the guests or try their best to accommodate guests.
Second of all, we booked a terrace room (one of the most expensive rooms), and unfortunately, there were no terrace chairs or sofa to sit on the terrace. Mind boggling, every other terrace room has proper chairs and sofas to sit, and we didn't get it. We asked the staff, but they refused at the beginning, offered a different room with extra cost (they said quote "its cheap, only $210 extra) 🤨 Whaat?, Cheap? After complaining to the manager the next day, they finally made an effort to put a small sofa on our terrace. Their excuse was that they washed the sofa before we arrived. Complete lie again, and I'm not sure why they enjoy lying about it. Just be honest, and we will understand.
I'm so sorry, but the service was awful, and communication is just not there. Reception lady was full of attitude.
Breakfast is so and so. Had better in other resorts in Zanzibar. By the way, they charge extra for proper coffee 😂 Absolute joke. The pool comes up to your chest so pretty shallow.
I would not recommend. Sorry, but this hotel needs to learn a lot if they are charging $250 per...
Read moreWe had an excellent stay. Located a short walk from the beautiful Kendwa beach and with cooperation with the Kendwa Rocks Hotel, you get the facilities of the big hotel with the cost of a small one. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant is excellent quality. We had the Fontana suite, a family room. Room and bathroom Size are good. Bed size is small for any one over 5'6 so expect your feet over the edge or bebt knees, the mattress very firm, which may be your thing, maybe not. It's also got a tin roof so expect crows hoping about to wake you early, if you are a light sleeper. There was quite bit of works going on, so we didn't use pool or gym, but the facilities at Kendwa Rocks are excellent, so no bother. 2 days we had no power, which didn't seem to affect the other hotels, but this affected water as well as everything you would expect from a power outage. Again, no problem or Hakuna Matata as the locals say. Ultimately, we had a great time and would recommend Natural Kendwa, yes it's a bit rustic but that's reflected in the cost, the people and exceptional service plus location make it worth it. A lovely touch was a packed breakfast they made us as we had an early flight, very thoughtful and hadn't been requested. You don't need beach towels as they provide them. We had efficient air conditioning, a fridge and a safe in our room. Decor is a little shabby but room and sheets were clean. If you leave keys at reception they will clean room and replace towels etc again, staff make life easy for you and are thoughtful and friendly. Thank you Natural Kendwa for a great stay! We shall miss you, especially Omi, who made my daughter...

When we first arrived we did not recognise the front compared with photos online but when you go through into the main area you realise it is exactly how it looks - stunning pool area and apartments. ||The apartment was very spacious and clean and beautifully decorated in a more traditional African style. The room was looked after well and we had our laundry done here, both by Saabi. He was very friendly and helpful.||All of the staff were friendly and welcoming and we felt safe. We had room service one night for celebratory drinks which was great.||The breakfasts were delicious! ||The beach is a 2 minute walk and it has a gorgeous restaurant and bar - part of Kendwa rocks. The food and drinks are yummy! You can use all of the Kendwa rocks facilities too. There was a Dj every evening in the main beach bar restaurant. He was very good.||We went on 2x boat trips with a guy called Alli - brilliant! A sunset trip and a swimming with dolphins and turtles trip.||A relaxing and fun stay. ||To note for anyone visiting NKV there are construction works happening outside and you could occasionally hear this. This was a surprise to us, but as we have learnt Zanzibar is developing and this will be the case outside of most established hotels. Hakkuna mattatta !!||Asanti San Natural...
