🍃Nature, 🏝Beach: Kwenda beach is located in the NNW of Zanzibar and easily accessible by boat or by foot. This stretch of beach has an array of activities on offer and is ideally balanced with options to enjoy the beach as a swimmer, snorkeler or sunbather. The reef creates a sheltered & shallow beach with white sand and warm kaleidoscopic water of turquoise & dark blue. The beach is mainly populated with various hotel guests. Unfortunately, this beach is brimming with “beach boys”: groups of vendors that hover up and down the beach. They sell trinkets & excursions to guests as they walk down to the ocean. They can be bothersome but for the most part seem to respond well to a polite decline. Occasionally these “beach boys” can be forcefully persistent, to the point of discomfort. 📌 Note: Interestingly, some of these vendors are local villagers with specific permits from their “zone counsellors” to operate along their home beach. The initiative was created as an effort to assist locals with participation in tourism. They wear lanyard ID cards to distinguish themselves as reputable local service providers / sellers. The rouge vendors without ID cards are (generally) not Zanzibarian. These “beach boys” are not unique to Kwenda beach, they are found on most of the public beaches and/or where there are tourists. Beach beauty: 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It could be a very nice long and wide beach...BUT there are a lot of fisher boats doing their fishing business during night and throwing all the garbage in the ocean and beach. It is and looks so dirty, not only full of empty oil metal cans, plastic bottles and other small little garbage. They don't care and are not educated. They don't understand that their environment will be dead if they continue like this. I guess it's their culture to live in the garbage, as you can see driving around the island away from the hotel's. Really not one of my favourite locations...sadly they don't look after it all.

It is so so beautiful but unfortunately ruined by the masses of hotels, resorts etc. they are a lot of children asking for money in a very intrusive way (it is not like that on the rest of the island) one teen boy even said to go to our hotel room and give some money while we where in the water! 😂and a lot of people/ masai trying to sell /stop you on on the beach. I was there 14 years ago as well and it was almost deserted. But I guess that Is just evolution of tourism.

Kendwa Beach on Zanzibar's northwestern coast is a haven for sun-seekers and water enthusiasts. Here's a quick glimpse: Paradise Found: Imagine soft, white sand beneath your toes, turquoise waters lapping at the shore, and swaying palm trees providing shade. That's the idyllic picture Kendwa Beach paints.

Activities Galore: This beach caters to active spirits. Dive into the crystal-clear waters for snorkeling or scuba diving adventures exploring vibrant coral reefs. For those who prefer staying above water, options like kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and kiteboarding due to favorable wind conditions are all on the table.

Relaxation at its Finest: If unwinding is your priority, Kendwa Beach delivers. Stretch out on a sun lounger, listen to the calming rhythm of the waves, and soak up the African sunshine.

Lively Atmosphere: Unlike its neighbor Nungwi, Kendwa boasts a more vibrant scene. Beachside restaurants and bars offer delicious local and international cuisine alongside refreshing drinks. In the evenings, some spots transform with live music and dancing, making Kendwa a great choice for those who enjoy a bit of nightlife after a day of relaxation.

Perfect for All: Whether you crave adventure, relaxation, or a touch of both, Kendwa Beach offers something for everyone. Soak up the beauty, enjoy the activities, and experience the lively spirit of this captivating...
