We were a family staying here for 10 nights. The family room had two bedrooms with 1 double and 2 singles, and the hotel provided a cot, which was perfect. The room was on the ground floor opposite the pool with a small private area to sit outside. The children loved the easy access to the pool, and there was a small bathroom with a shower next to their apartment, which saved them traipsing in and out of the pool through the apartment when we |The other two adults had a double room on the first floor with a balcony. Both rooms had a convenient clothes rack for drying clothes and towels on, and fresh towels and beach towels were provided every day. The only thing that wasn't good about the 1st floor room was it had massive issues with the plumbing, blocking most days even without tissue being our down there. I assume being above the ground floor meant it didn't have enough pressure. This was frustrating as I found myself having to leave the room to use the pool toilet downstairs multiple times to avoid another blockage.|Overall, the rooms were spacious, clean, and serviced every day.|The two pools entertained the older children and had space for their inflatable floats. The pool bar made some good value food for lunches and tasty cocktails to enjoy in the afternoon and evenings. The pool didn't open till 9am, which seemed late, I did, however, go in for a few early morning swims to get some exercise done, which none of the staff complained about. I think it would be a great idea if they had maybe 2 hrs of adult swim time available in the morning as as soon as the pool opens it gets full with children and doing peaceful lengths goes out the window!|Breakfast was tasty and had plenty of choice and availability every morning. I liked the fresh egg station as well as the pancake maker.|Overall, it was a great stay, super friendly staff, and good location for adults...

Everything felt run down, the floor in the middle of the room would creak loudly and dent in everytime you walked on it. Toilet seemed a little old and dirty too. The bed was hard almost like a plank.
The second room(premier king room) however was much better. The room was bright and spacious and we got the pool view room which was nice! The balcony was spacious as well but 3/5 stars for cleanliness. On the layer everything looks fine. Until you look a little closer. Pillow cases are not replaced. We had to call them every evening for a new set and changed it ourselves. Certain areas of the room is dusty. I believe they mainly tidy the bed and that's about it.
2/5 stars for breakfast. Very small variety and about 80% the same dishes daily. However the pancakes and bacon were tasty for me!
4/5 stars for swimming pool! I felt the pool had a nice ambience and it also had strong jet pressure at a corner of the pool which was soothing for the back. Pool bar was also in operation daily which was great.
The staff were pleasant, all of them!
Location was 3/5. It's a short 10min walk to Karon beach with half of it down a sloped road so you will have to walk back up the same road to the hotel which may or may not be alright for someone with mobility issues. Just a handful of shops opposite the hotel and about 5mins walk to the nearest 7 eleven.
They have a free shuttle bus from the hotel to Karon Beach at...
Read moreIt's a good place with friendly staff - if you're not easily grossed out (see the linen, wallpapers and curtains - they're all in stubborn stains). Also, if you're not too shy to go to a bathroom without a door latch and with an opaque window and door to the rest of the room. Make sure you keep the curtains closed - your windows will give out onto passers-by wherever your room is. A tiny thing with only a pool for an area, on a road so noisy you can hardly hear each other at breakfast on the 1st floor with windows open. No currency exchange at reception, go to a place down the street. Pack unwrinklable clothes or go to the laundry next door to get them pressed. Don't be awed by the official-looking taxi price chart - haggle. Don't try to order a taxi in advance - it may be entirely forgotten, just find one outside; they're there 24/7. No picturesque surroundings, a narrow curb walk to the beach (nice and clean one), and far-ish from all the best dining/shopping/bars/markets/reserves. I mean, all the nearby places, from the pizzeria to the smoothie stand, have been tested and found good. But Karon isn't really where it's at. The hot water on the third floor is tepid.
The restaurant people are friendly and serve okay food. Let me reiterate, the staff are all nice, and you can live with that tepid water in the tropics, etc. etc. - if you think...
