Racist staff. Do NOT give this place business if you are a tourist. We went into this store to pick up a few bits but we were subjected to racism by the security guard. He made us leave our backpack and water bottle at the entrance of the shop. We protested as we had our camera in the bag as they also have signs up beside the shelf they wanted us to leave our belongings on. We begrudgingly took the camera out of the bag and left the bag with him. Only for us to walk in and there was plenty of Thai people walking around with bags and there was no issue with this? Our belongings were the only items left on the shelf, assuming because we are white tourists. When we realised this we turned around to leave as we couldn't support a shop that discriminates like this. We then were not allowed leave the way we came in and were told to go past the checkouts, but there was no exit unless you queued up with customers at the tills so we had to climb over a chain to get out. Incredibly rude and distasteful. I hope people see this review and do not give this shop any...

if you like to visit supermarkets for fun or as an cultural barometer, like me, Makro Kata is not the place - i have been to other Makros and it was a very nice experience this one is very local Marko is an big box wholesaler - that sells to retailers beacouse most of the small Thai bossiness are not big enough to work as wholesalers with credit and commit to regular supply purchase - so this place is great for buying bundles one other thing is that the service was horrible - one of the worst i got in Thailand so if you are a tourist that interested of seeing a big wholesale supermarket go - but not to this branch - find...
