ร้านก๋วยเรือนรกแตก (Rin’s Kitchen) — Restaurant in Karon

Plenty of choice and at a good price, but not 5 stars in our experience. We wanted a quick lunch but spent a very long time because the first dish took a while and they had forgotten our other dish, so we had to order again. The yellow stir fried noodles tasted off and left an unpleasant aftertaste. They also quoted the wrong price upon paying. Honest mistakes, no doubt, but since it wasn't too busy at the time, we couldn't figure out why it wasn't going more smoothly. We might have caught them at a bad moment (we arrived after lunch rush), but since there are alternatives down the road we prefer, we'll leave this place to the regulars who seem to enjoy it...

We had papaya salad, pad thai with chicken and panang curry with chicken + rice. Salad and curry we orderd both spicy. The salad was just perfect (we have quite some practice with spicy food so do not recommend for beginners, but in a local market you will get hotter ones). Pad thai was also just what we expected so I can recommend this to anyone. The curry after the salad seemed not to have any spice at all. They had used the larger chillies not the thin ones. Other than the missing heat we still loved the taste. Oh, this is an open air restaurant next to a big road so do set tou expextations for the authentic Thai...

One of our TOP favorite Thai restaurants around Kata/Karon. We kept coming back to try more of their menu and so far we are super delighted with all the Thai dishes we got. They have cool open kitchen and friendly staffs too. The prices can't be better for what we got. Also they have coconut jelly dessert in the tiny bowls that are surprisingly good.
