We stayed in jacuzzi room. I want to like this hotel stay, however there's too many things i didn't like. Compare to similar 3-4 stars at cheaper or about the same price in Karon that I used to stay, here is also worse. I wouldn't come back and wouldn't recommend my friends staying here. What I like: It's beautiful. A jacuzzi outside, bathtub inside, and shower outside. The room is spacious. What i don't like: 1. The room are not clean. I can see a lot of dust on the telephone, lamp, mirror, chair and table. Also there is beer can under the bed (Meaning the housekeeper dont clean and check the room well before new guests arrive) 2. (Hotel) So much mosquito though we never leave the door open and that we killed many each day. 3. (Room) The door lock is bad. It locked us out once. We dont trust there door lock that we don't close the door fully anymore when we go out. 4. (Hotel) Only 1 key card is provided to access room and to activate electricity. Thus when i leave the room, i cannot keep the ac on. (However additional key cards are possible, ask reception) 5. (Hotel) Wifi is so bad so slow. I end up using my own mobile internet all the time. Using phone hotspot for laptop. 6. (Room) The tv is old. Not smart tv. And because it's old I cannot even plug in hdmi. It's already rusty. 7. (Room) Lack of electricity outlets near the bed. There's only 1 outlet on each side of the bed. I have to choose whether to take the bed lamp plug out or charge my phone. 1 more outlet near the kettle. That's it. Seem like hotel afraid im gonna charge my phone and waste their electricity. 8. (Hotel) Approached by a security guard. I understand the hotel doesn't want people to trespassed. But the guard has to do better to not offend the guests. 9. (Room) so many millipedes coming from outdoor showers. We found at least 3-5 of them every day in the bathroom and bedroom. Doesn't matter I close the door because there is a gap at the bottom of the door. 10. (Hotel) breakfast is quite bad for a large 4stars? hotel in Thailand. One day we stayed, people just opened and looked at the food they had and almost all of them just got eggs, because that's the only thing that seems to be eatable. We stayed 5 nights and we skipped 2 bf because how it gets worse.

I found the security guards very hostile and unnecessarily rude especially at the front of the hotel. Especially given that as a tourist they can certainly determine we were not from Thailand. I also found the same security asking to see my hotel card even having seen my card 10 minutes prior to me leaving. (Not all security guards are the same). This really became an issue when I lost my card and was attempting to refuse entry. I had to walk around to the beach side of the hotel to gain entry. The air conditioning is a real issue I am pleased I had my ear plugs with me. Issuing one card for the room did not allow me to keep my ac on while out which took time to cool down. As I had one person in my room I was told it was 500bhat for another card. The breakfast was ok at best however I would say the reception staff were awesome!! The pools and staff at the swimming pools were awesome. The old phukhet side of the hotel could do with a revamp in my view but overall apart from these issues I would say the room views are awesome and the staff apart from security are very friendly and helpful. I would not revisit this hotel again especially as the security guards I had contact with. The AC and issuing another card should be standard practice as should the security guards be polite and less hostile and should be spoken to about their lack of professionalism towards guests.

—————————————————————— First of all, I would like to clarify that the hotel is divided into two areas. A more current one with new rooms and a pretty good pool and the other area that both the rooms and patios and terrace are old, deteriorated and worn furniture. Having said that, I would like to clarify that for us the only remarkable thing about the stay with respect to the hotel is the location where it is located on the beachfront. Now I would like to tell you a little about our experience. On our first night located in the old area of the hotel we met CCARACHAS in the room, we requested a change of room and they granted it to us but to our surprise when we left in the morning the next day and arrived at night we found the door closed. They tell us that they have changed our room again by offering us another one whose access to it (through a card) was broken instead of giving us a solution they tell us that every time we want to enter we have to get to reception and that they have to open us. We ask you to leave us in the previous room for our comfort since it was unoccupied and they tell us to get by with that one to our amazement. The rooms in the "old" area are as their name suggests old both furniture, decoration.. the sheets quite used and the mattresses quite hard. The cleaning leaves a lot to be desired since they only replenish towels and make the bed. The Wi-Fi does not work and the area lacks good coverage. The air machines make a lot of noise inside the room so the stay is UNPLEASANT and the rest is continually diminished. The photographs you can see do not resemble reality. The breakfast buffet is normal and on two occasions we find mosquitoes and ants inside the food. In short, our stay was UNPLEASANT and the treatment was BAD and I left much to be desired. I don't recommend this hotel at all

The hotel is about a 50 min drive from the airport. we had a private taxi transfer as part of our package so couldn't tell a price. The taxi drivers were brilliant and friendly.

The hotel grounds are lovely, and reception is stunning, kind of inside/outside vibe.

We had a room on the side of the original hotel. Spotlessly clean, nice room, big enough for two people for two weeks, plenty of space. Plenty of shampoo/conditioner and a hairdryer provided. Pool towels also provided.

Breakfast 6.30am.-10.30am, big enough area and lots of tables, etc, again inside/outside which is lovely as there are birds and mini ponds with lilies. staff again brilliant and friendly. The food was always nice and plentiful. Yes as others have said, it's not a traditional selection, but more a mix of Asian and European.

Pools we only visited the smaller one as it was part of our building (we visited the beach most days as it's so close) there is a bar that was staffed and sunny area so the day we did spend there was nice.

Area, we walked a lot, the beach is literally over the small rd, the restaurants along the small strip just outside the back entrance were all great. We also went out to the front entrance there are also some nice restaurants and pubs along the main Rd. We never had any problems with the security they were always lovely and friendly, opened the gates when we approached, and said hi as we passed them. Very close to everything.

Few little niggles,

The smell of the drains (throughout Phuket also) in the bathroom was quite bad, we mentioned that the sink was blocked and the lovely cleaning lady managed to unblock it and the smell got better. The bathroom its self was clean but no window so natural light in a quite dark room made getting ready rather difficult. Our TV went out and we mentioned it to reception and was told signal throughout the hotel had gone down and an engineer was there to fix, we had to mention it again three days later as it was still not working and it was fixed while we was at the beach.

Pool is open 10.00am, we felt that was rather late especially on our last day as we had to vacate the room at 12 (couldn't accommodate a late checkout) and we wanted one last swim before a shower and packing our bags etc.

Towels, no hand towels just bath, pool, and flannels.

Aircon, worked fine but think the filters needed either cleaning or changing as there was sometimes a pungent smell when it had been running throughout the night.

There are some flip-flops part of the room, we used them so thought they were OK to take, we were asked for them back when we got to reception which was fine but was told they reuse them (had I known this I wouldn't of used them)

All in all we would stay again if in the area, so would recommend this hotel, we feel the original part of the hotel while lovely is more a 3 star and the newer part of the hotel is...

Once we arrived at the hotel, we got the wrong room assigned. We booked the Sino Wing jacuzzi room for 5 nights and we were told it wasn’t available anymore. We contacted the Trip customer service and the last person that helped us got told our Sino Wing room was under maintenance. The next day we went to the frontdesk and the receptionist also stated the room was under maintenance. We stood our ground and then the manager showed up, willing to show us the Sino Wing room so we could choose if we wanted to move or stay in our ‘upgrade’ (a family room with pool view isn’t an upgrade in our opinion since we’re a couple looking for a relaxed holiday). We chose the room we booked and we were able to move to our room after 2 nights in the Serene Wing. Staff was nice, room was cleaned daily, but those are the only plusses we can give this hotel. Not even worthy 4 stars. Linen was stained, wifi was very poor, breakfast wasn’t worth it. Make sure to bring your keycard when going outside of the resort, because the security guy will definitely scream at you when you can’t proof you’re a hotel guest. Because we had to sleep 2 nights in the wrong room we received coupons for 2 free dinners at restaurant Chili. We could only choose from set menu’s and had to pay for our drinks. We never had such a bad restaurant experience. Drinks weren’t served at the same time (cocktail was served first and we had to ask for the ordered water after 15 mins of waiting). We were the only guests, so it wasn’t like they had a lot to do. All courses except the dessert were served at the same time. So imagine having a table filled with soups, appetizers and mains but no rice or anything. That needed to be ordered separately. We left before we got our dessert and we never went back to redeem the other coupons. If you like spending your holiday amongst thousands of tourists, Karon is the place to go. If you prefer a quiet holiday,...
