Pros: nice area with trees, quite quiet, stylish reception. Close to the airport link. All the rest is cons! Pathetic experience for this price. Single room with shared bathroom. Used to be modern, but now furniture is dirty and shabby. Beds roll same as at the hospital, uncomfortable to sleep. Panoramic windows (looks beautiful, yes) make it extremely hot in the morning and daytime. No opportunity to open them btw to let some fresh air in. No black out, so that you wake up once the sun rises. Curtains were dirty! Bed linen was dirty! Bed top was dirty! No fridge in the room, no AC remote (!), no bin, how come. AC is old, I presume, it was impossible to calibrate temperature and the power of fan. Very noisy and barely a result to make room any cooler. It also made a loud squeaky sound every hour. Hair in the shower, no one cleaned it by the next morning. No hot water! The shower is installed into the ceiling, very hard to wash yourself if you don't want your hair to be wet. Only big bath towel,to small towel for face was given. No soap either. I even had to ask for water by myself... Lights are off at night (after 9pm), really creepy. The door to the shared toilet is pretty transparent, you can see a person inside. No way I paid this money for this amazing experience. And the swimming pool...gosh, a small and narrow one! I'm 167 cm height, and it was impossible to swim for me, I could not spread my arms wide enough. You can only sit and chill in this bath (not a pool at all), don't trust misleading pictures. I could have had a room with shared bathroom for 12 dollars near BTS! Really regret staying at Refill now hostel. This is the first time I am giving such a bad review. Very...
Read moreAfter flying from Belgium to Bangkok we wanted a couple of days to relax from the flight (with our baby) before continuing to Laos. This place seemed perfect for this. Mission succeeded. In the midst of busy Bangkok this is an Oasis. Beautifully decorated, surrounded by palm trees, this place has a laid back feel. The staff makes you feel right at home. We had a room on the top floor, which meant taking a lot of steps. The room was huge with nice furniture. Very clean with good beds. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the hostel over the days. All were excellent as you can surely see on the pictures. The prices are great, both for accommodation and food/drinks. The only downside of the hostel is the location. There isn't much to do nearby, but since we already visited Bangkok earlier this wasn't an issue. I can't stress enough how friendly the staff was. Helping us with taxi's, tips, bringing cold water and pillows when we went to the pool without needing to ask for this. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hostel and will definitely come back when I'm in Bangkok!!! Some places nearby I recommend: next door is a nice coffee bar / sports club. There's also a Vietnamese restaurant nearby as well as a Sushi restaurant, both excellent as well and within 1km reach. And definitely eat at the hostel too, they have excellent food: try the omelet with side dish of paprika/onion/potato for breakfast. And give the...
Read moreThere was everything to like about Refillnow!. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you will get. Clean rooms, thick, luxurious towels changed everyday, privacy screens between bunk beds, spacious room, huge lockers (I could fit in it), comfy sofas to lie in all day, sun beds, super clean pool surrounded by lush greenery, auto switch to night lights at 10pm (you couldn't turn on the main lights if you came in late which means no one will disturb your sleep; but there was enough dim lighting to move around in), close proximity to awesome street food/ convenience stores. Lots of room for parking if you drive, lots of space to workout. Staff were friendly, always ready to help. ||It was a little far from the nearest BTS/MRT but is a non-issue as you will want to spend more time in this boutique hostel than anywhere else in Bangkok. A short moped ride will solve your problem (40-50 baht). Admittedly food was a little pricey (breakfast was 150-200baht) but I had it one day and it was great. ||I should have stayed longer. Definitely...
