Atmosphere / Location: Pretty sketchy and isolated area very peaceful environment and great landscape out of the hectic Bangkok lifestyle . Most likely wouldn't drive out here just to eat. Restaurant is nice and intimate romantically surrounding brightly lit with minimalist design and décor done by the award winning POAR Architects. It’s a place to be. Service: There's actual service here! Greeted with smiles upon entering. Welcoming and friendly staff, unlike most other restaurant places. Food: The flavouring overall is pretty light on its own, which I like. Wasn't too salty or oily, excellent taste. You could add some sauces if the flavor is too light. I had a beef dish served with noodle and the meat was so tender and healthy organic cuisine which again were top notch ,the young staff were courteous and polite ,really couldn’t fault the place . Overall, this place is excellent for a quick, value for money based on the portion and environment, and Fabulous healthy meal and excellent signature dishes “to die for”. Overall I would eat here again- the place is clean and niche environment, and the owner down to earth and super friendly owner khun Third, Khun Tip and khun Aron Restaurant Manageress and waitresses are super sweet. Plus the food is delicious. A great place for Tourist, Expat and local lifestyle Thais to dine and meet . Their Free Wi-Fi connection was superb, and large outdoor landscape available for more bigger group functions and event small wedding reception. I would for sure recommend this Thuyen Vietnamese Restaurant Bangkok as an award-winning restaurant for their outstanding cuisine creations, design and great service. A 5 stars outlet for me .

The service and setting is serviceable at best, from the white text on black background menu that's hard to read, tablewares and choice of colour scheme that don't flatter the food for those that like to take pictures and food not coming out in order that should be consumed. While the waiters are attentive enough, the service as a whole is not up to the level of expectations set by the appearance of the location from the beautiful kempt garden that purports to be a very fine dining restaurant..
Which were all negated by the quality of cooking, easily the best Vietnamese we've ever had in Bangkok, some dishes easily beats the more fine dining venerated restaurant. The menus had many item that were the restaurant's own innovation with a twist on the regular dishes of the cuisine, or even technique and expertise clearly experimented and well developed evident in the simple spring rolls
And the final surprise was the price, when ordering, we didn't get a good look at the price due to the poor legibility of the over styled menu, when the bill arrives we were shocked! This is barely above market stall or shop house restaurant level price, yet the food was at the level of fine dining restaurant with shopping malls locations, we'd happily paid double
I don't know that if due to the ubiquity of lower end Vietnamese restaurant in Thailand this restaurant only finds audience with local Thais who might find the price prohibitive, yet there were crowds and tables are filled or they have found a niche and balance between price/quality/service; this is well worth a travel beyond tourist accessible area and easily one of the best Vietnamese...
Read moreThuyền offers a refreshing take on Vietnamese cuisine, blending traditional flavors with modern flair in a cozy, garden-side setting. The pho bo stands out with its fragrant broth and tender beef, easily among the best in Bangkok. The tomato beef stew vermicelli is rich and comforting, and the homemade coffee jelly with ice cream is a delightful finish.
The menu features both classic dishes and inventive creations like Vietnamese pizza with smoked salmon, Ja Ka La Wong turmeric sea bass, and grilled scallops with crunchy peanuts and seafood sauce. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors.
Service is friendly, and food arrives promptly, though dishes may come out in an unpredictable order. The garden area adds charm, especially on clear days, making it a great spot for relaxed gatherings.
While the ambiance suggests fine dining, prices are surprisingly affordable—offering excellent value for the quality. However, the menu design and presentation could be improved for better readability and photo appeal.
