I just returned from my second one month stay at Haad Salad Resort. I absolutely love this place-The hosts, villas, community, location and vibes just right-so sweet, welcoming, safe and beautiful. The villa I stayed in was a studio with private bath, comfortable bed, mini fridge and vanity, and a great porch/deck with hammock, table and chairs. Very simple, yet all I needed. The rooms and property are well cared for and clean.
The resort hostess, Deer is an absolute angel. She is wonderful, personable, helpful and so compassionate. We all fell in love with her. The other staff are also so kind and lovely. It has an authentic Thai family feel.
Fruit and toast are offered in the morning, as well as hot water for tea and filtered drinking water. There is a common area for cooking occasional meals, but this is not necessary since there are so many wonderful and affordable options for food at local restaurants. The walk to the beach is a short 3 minutes through gorgeous tropical trees and flowering plants. And the sea is absolutely beautiful...sparkling, refreshing. The beach activity can get lively at mid day and at night, but is really sweet. Guests on the strip include international families and other single and paired travelers, all very friendly.
I would recommend Haad Salad Resort to anyone who appreciates the simple pleasure of a rich jungle orchestra of insects and birds, (instead of the buzz of air conditioning), and is satisfied with a simple, clean space to rest at night while enjoying the magic of the...
Read moreStayed for 4 nights in a standard room (bungalow). In terms of quality, it was an average 2 star hotel. The room was clean but it can do with some renovations. The bathroom wasn't big and shower is close to the toilet. The room is cleaned every 3 days, but you can get fresh towels and any other basic accessories required from the reception, any day. However, considering the money paid and it's location, it's perfectly fine unless you need something more glamorous.||||In terms of location, it's 1 minute away from the Haad Salad beach, where there are several restaurants when one can eat and drink. There are some better food options in town (not on Haad Salad beach), a few minutes walk from the accommodation. Ying Ying restaurant is an excellent example with really high quality Thai food and very good prices. ||||The hotel owners were very nice and they helped us in everything required. Bread, butter, jam, tea, coffee and banana are available for breakfast or any time of the day for all guests. You can rent motorbikes for 200 THB daily from there directly, which price was good and bike qualities were also fine.||||Going back to the pier in Thong Sala to catch the ferry, they offered to take us in the morning for 100 THB per person. Upon arrival at the pier to go to your accommodation, you can take a shared taxi (red vans) for 150...
Read moreI would recommend Haad Salad Resort to anyone who wants to have a nice quiet time and feel like you are living in Koh Phangan!
The family that runs this resort is just very sweet and kind. They help you anything you need, and the longer you stay the more discount they offer. (At least when I was there, which was a low season.) For me personally, they arranged a ticket to Bangkok and also a ride to the pier with no hustle or no extra cost.
They have a free breakfast everyday (bread, fruits, coffee), they have a kitchen that you can use until 9pm, they rent out a scooter for 200 baht, they have a nice well-maintained pool, they have a laundry service (50 baht per kg). There is a water dispenser where you can use it anymore for free, and also you can buy some snacks, noodles, beer and drinks at a very reasonable price.
One of the most beautiful beaches (haad salad beach) is about 2 minutes walk away, and it is nicer to be based here to explore north side of the island (more pristine and quiet beaches and small villages).
It takes about 20 or more minutes taxi ride from the pier to get there. (We paid 200 baht per person and it was a...
