Well well, phi phi island itself is a beautiful and tranquil island with clear blue water. This rustic wooden build hotel nestled calmly at the side of a hill beside the beach. the arrangement itself create a vacation feeling when arrived. One need to get wooden boat ride once arrived at the main piers (Tonsai Piers). Me and my friend personally arrived from mainlaind via ferry from Kong Jilad Krabi pier. To start with, Kong Jilad Pier itself looks new and updated. Ample space for parking where i left my car there for 4 days unharm. Back to the Tonsai Piers, once arrived there the hotel staff hold a sign board for visitor to catch boat. Unfortunately our arrival welcomed by a moderate heavy rain. While waiting on the jetty, we saw lots of travellers passed by mainly whites foreigner. There were also workers going to and back on the jetty to get goods or supply for the island. The staff provide us with an umbrella. After a while we got onto the wooden boat and off we went to the resort. The journey itself took around 10-15minutes. Along the way we can see other resorts nestled along the beach or by the hills. I was mesmerized by the blue jaded water. Precisely the hotel located at the Long Beach. Basically it is opposite to Monkey bay and can see the Koh Phi Phi Lee to the left side where famous Maya bay located. Once arrived at the hotel’s jetty, we were brought onto a tuk tuk (toyota hilux) to the hotel’s lobby. It was near around 100m and although for me it was unecessary, it did feel welcoming and somehow luxurious. Checked in was smooth and we were assign to the room on the side of the hill. The tuk tuk sent us there. Our room view is not bad although it was obstructed by some trees. The room itself rustic and old design with a large bathroom which in modern design can fix another room. Robe provided and amazingly all ameneties functioning well. As the room build on wooden floor.. we could hear our neighbour steps and talk. The room also has connecting door. For the first night we tiptoing in our room afraid our neighbour might be some old guest and we may disturb them as they probably dozed off early. Anyway, upon arrival, once settled we off to the beach to hang out. There were 2 swimming pools. One beside the restaurants and another one at the diving centre. We njoyed the one at the diving centre most of our stays. The sunset there were good but not as majestic as it located on right side from the resort and not stratergically straight. During the days we just hangout by the beach. The beach benches were sufficient for guests and only for guests. Most were white foreigner either couple or families. Breakfirst buffet spread quite a variety and delicious too. Im not sure it halal or not, thus i avoid the meats. We had dinner daily at the hotel restaurants. Kudos to chef. All the dinner menu i ate were scrumptious including their tomyum, pad thai, soup. There were also fire performance at night. For those who crave for party life, may as well proceed to the main pier. Wooden boat are always available but the price for tranfer is much higher late at night. We stayed in. It was nice, calm and private. There were also tour provided at the resort, we took private boat tour half day ( forgot the price) we went to the koh phi phi lee to visit Maya Bay and the surrouding area of the island swimming and snorkeling. Memorable moment but the coral not as great in Perhentian Island Malaysia that ive seen before. There was also massage available. It was absolutely not dissapointing experience. I even dozed off during the session.Add on note, one have to remember the pathway to the room as there are terraces which lead to almost same looking villa. Few time we got confused and lost but we always got to our room but in panting. Due to our interest to this place we continued to stay here for one more night. After bargaining with the english speaking recepcionist lady we got an acceptable price. Bare in mind that march was high season where the prices of hotel across thailand sky high. Initially we were provided with the room near the jetty by the beach, we realised that the room was smelly at night with smell of seawage. Thus we cant sleep and i went straight to the reception and they immidiately ordered us the tuk tuk and we back to our old room to spend the last night there. No price increment placed. How great was their hospitality. Upon tranfer out i opted to walk to the jetty not taking the tuk tuk to enjoy the last moment of the resort .All and all i will definitely be back here...
Read moreI’m very happy for choosing Phi Phi The Beach Resort for our stay on the island. First the location was perfect - away from the crowds, noise, dirt and smell Ton Sai Bay. The resort is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature and maritime life of Long beach. It’s stunning that you have such a beautiful coral reef
right in front of the resort. We were happy to bring our own snorkels with of, but if not you can also rent some in the resort. I really enjoyed snorkelling during the low tide when you could find in a really low waters all the spices, even the big fishes, that you used to find in the deep. The beach is nice and the long chairs belong to the hotel which is good. A hidden gem in the area is Loh Moo Dee beach which you can an access from the top left end of the resort. It’s a long and wide beach with crystal clear waters, also great for snorkelling where you can only find few people. It was only us and 2-3 other people there and only some sporadically arriving boats. There is a map on the right side of the reception which could be useful. Let’s come back to the resort - it’s garden area is very maintained, you can see that they invested a lot of efforts in it and the result is stunning- a great variety and mixture of plants and trees. Our room was lokated on the top and the view was gorgeous. It was a bit challenging to get there several times a day but it worths. I could see many people moving around the resort with the vans which were picking them and taking them back to the rooms, but I think this is for free only at arrival and departure (we never needed it, so never asked). The bungalow was very spacious, with large veranda and stunning view. There were free soft drinks and water in the refrigerator which were refilled daily without need to asked but even if we needed more we could ask and they would arrange it. The be was huge and comfortable. I can just recommend the they renovate a bit the rooms, especially outside where the paint is a bit old and doesn’t look too good. The breakfast was good, nothing special, I was even say that it needs some improvement. If there is something that I didn’t like in the resort, this is the restaurant. The taste is nothing but mediocre and prices are higher compared to other resorts around. This problem was fixed easily - especially for dined we were not visiting the restaurant there but another one where food was tasty and cheaper. I would recommend to the management of the resort to work on this. Regarding the service and cleanness - I’m very happy, personnel very always polite and helpful. I really enjoined my stay at the resort and would...
Read moreI’d like to highly recommend Phi Phi Beach Resort on Phi Phi Island – an amazing place! It’s located a bit away from the port and the island’s center, about a 40-minute walk (so I was told – I didn’t try it myself). There are longtail boat taxis that can take you to and from the center at a reasonable price (100–300 baht, depending on the number of people and the time of day or night). On arrival and checking out we got a free sailing to the port. When we arrived in few minutes the wether change to a cloudy and Manson rainy wether. The staff from the resort that came to take us were very very caring. They gave us plastic coat covering, covered all our luggage and help us going into a taxi boat safely. It was a very nice welcoming arrival. Felt so good!! The resort has charming wooden bungalows, fully equipped with everything you need: air conditioning, a minibar (refilled daily with complimentary soft drinks), hot water shower (the stream is a bit weak but still pleasant), TV, safe, wardrobe, coffee corner, and a balcony with outdoor seating, free WiFi. Towels were replaced daily, including large, soft beach towels, the bed was beautifully made, and the room was thoroughly cleaned each day.
The resort has a good breakfast, a great restaurant open all day until late at night, a bar, a small convenience store with fair prices, taxi service to the center, a pool, lush greenery, reception, and buggy transport to the bungalows (the resort is built on a fairly steep hillside). There’s also an on-site PADI dive center with an amazing instructor named Garth – without planning in advance, I ended up taking a 3-day diving course with him and got certified! You can also join dives with him around the island depending on your level.
Right in front of the resort is an underwater nature reserve called Shark Point – we dived there and it was stunning.
The resort also has a private beach with loungers, tables, and umbrellas, and a marked snorkeling area that’s safely separated from boat traffic. In this area there is also a nice snorkeling site to enjoy.
Each evening there’s an impressive fire show, where the performer also invites kids from the audience to join if they want – it’s very cute and fun.
From the resort, there’s also a walking trail to the island’s Viewpoint for sunset/sunrise views – about a 20–30-minute walk depending on your fitness level. The staff everywhere were very helpful and kind.
In short, this place is truly well-organized, beautiful, relaxing, fun, and indulgent. It offers both activity and rest. I highly, highly recommend it – and I’d love to...
