Phi Phi The Beach Restaurant — Restaurant in Ko Phi Phi Don

I don’t know why this restaurant has such a low rating. It’s the best on the beach by far and the only one to use straws that are biodegradable and that are not plastic. So that should be enough to recommend it alone. We ate here 2 of the three nights and the dried chicken curry a.k.a. Penang curry was stupendous. The staff are attentive and not overbearing. Prices might be slightly higher than some of the other restaurants, but not much and to be honest it’s worth it. There is definitely no comparison with the pre-cooked and heated up Pad Thai I was served at the other end of the beach which was also very greasy. We shared a banana split for desert one night – it was gigantic. The other night we had banana with coconut cream and that was a surprising delight. They have a happy hour from 4 to 6 for cocktails that come in at four Australian dollars per cocktail 🍹. By the way, the snorkeling 🤿 just in front of this restaurant is fantastic...

Definitely not the best option. Even that we stayed at the resort, most of the time we preferred to eat at other restaurants. The food was very mediocre, I don’t remember something being tasty, but I remember that prices were much higher than the near resorts. Regarding the atmosphere I can say again that other restaurants were better because of the long chairs situated between the restaurant and the water - this was not the best view, but otherwise it was nice - a lot of lights around making it pleasant. Every evening there is a fire show with n the beach, starting at 21:00 which is nice to watch, but for me the better option is to take a cocktail at the bar and enjoy it. It’s good for the options that you have at long beach.

Just the customer service can improve massively if they focus their attention to the guest. 4 people working on the floor and we needed to call everyone all the time to order again, or to get the check.

Second, massive issue in the island with the cat population. They are beautiful and súper friendly, but the locals don’t even care about them. I please ask all of you to take more care of this animals by putting at least some fresh water for the ones who roam free. They suffer the heat, they don’t have food and many of them are sick...
