Samed Pavilion Resort, Rayong — Hotel in Ko Samet

This was the first time, and hopefully the only time, that I'd have to give a 1-star review. The hotel was generally acceptable, but not great for the price I paid through Agoda, which was almost 3,000 baht per night. With an additional 1,000 baht, it came to about 4,000 baht per night.

The pool was small, cloudy, and had a strong chlorine smell. The water in the room stopped flowing. After a technician came to check, the water turned black for a while. That was still acceptable.

However, the air conditioner wasn't working. We received cold air conditioning for one of the four nights we stayed. We slept hot for three nights, making our entire trip a nightmare. We were constantly irritated because the room was so hot. Getting the technician to check it was difficult.

On the first day, we waited for a while until we were sure the air conditioner wasn't working. We reported it to the staff around 4:00 PM. It was fixed around 8:00 PM by refilling the refrigerant. That was the only night we slept cool.

On the second day, the air conditioner wasn't cooling anymore, but out of consideration, we endured it. We had four portable fans, so it was bearable.

On the third day, later in the morning, we reported that the air conditioner was no longer cooling. The staff said they would send someone to check, but no one showed up. We slept extremely hot all night because the air conditioning wasn't working at 100%.

On the fourth day, we politely asked the lobby again at breakfast around 8:00 AM to check the air conditioning. The staff took the complaint, and by 10:00 AM, no one had arrived.

I called the staff a third time to ask what time they'd be here. The staff said they still didn't know and asked to check with the housekeeping. We were so hot, we were furious, so we took the kids to play in the water to cool off. We returned to the room around noon and it still hadn't been fixed.

We had to ask a fourth time to see when the problem would be fixed. If they didn't, we could have just let them know, as we'd requested it the previous day, so we could have moved hotels. Even then, the problem wouldn't be permanent, as the air conditioning was back to its normal temperature at 2:00 AM.

On check-out day, we packed our things while still hot.

สระว่ายน้ำเล็ก มีความขุ่น และกลิ่นคลอรีนแรง น้ำในห้องหยุดไหล หลังจากช่างมาดูให้น้ำไหลเป็นสีดำอยู่พักนึง นั่นยังยอมรับได้

แต่แอร์ใช้งานไม่ได้ ทางเราได้รับความเย็นของแอร์ ใน 1 ของทั้งหมด 4 คืนที่เข้าพัก ทางเรานอนร้อนทั้งหมด 3 คืน ทำให้ทั้งทริปของเราเป็นฝันร้าย เราหงุดหงิดตลอดเวลาเพราะห้องร้อนมาก การขอให้ช่างเข้ามาเช็คเป็นอะไรที่ยากลำบาก

วันแรกรอสักพักจนแน่ใจว่าแอร์ไม่ทำงานจริงๆ แจ้งพนักงานประมานบ่ายสี่โมงกว่า ได้รับการแก้ไขเวลา 2ทุ่มกว่า โดยการเติมน้ำยาแอร์ นั่นเป็นคืนเดียวที่เราได้นอนเย็นๆ

วันที่2 แอร์เริ่มไม่ค่อยเย็นอีกแล้ว แต่เป็นเพราะความเกรงใจ เราจึงทน เพราะเรามีพัดลมพกพามา4ตัว จึงพอทนไหว

วันที่ 3 สายๆเราแจ้งไปอีกครั้งว่าแอร์ไม่เย็นอีกแล้ว ทางสตาฟแจ้งว่าเดี๋ยวจะให้คนมาเช็ค แต่ก็ไม่มีใครมา เรานอนร้อนมากๆทั้งคืนเพราะคืนนี้คือแอร์ไม่ทำงานแบบ100%

วันที่4เราแจ้งที่ลอบบี้อีกครั้งตอนอาหารเช้า8โมงกว่าๆ อย่างสุภาพว่ารบกวนเช็กแอร์ให้หน่อย สตาฟรับเรื่อง จน10โมงกว่ายังไม่มีใครมา โทรถามพนักงานแจ้งเป็นครั้งที่3 ว่ามาได้ประมานกี่โมงคะ พนักงานแจ้งว่ายังไม่ทราบ ขอเช็คกับแม่บ้านอีกที เราร้อนมากๆจนโมโห เลยพาเด็กไปเล่นน้ำแก้ร้อน กลับมาห้องเที่ยงกว่ายังไม่ได้รับการแก้ไข จนเราต้องทวงถามรอบที่ 4 ว่าจะมาแก้ไขได้ตอนไหน ถ้าไม่มาให้แจ้งได้เลยเพราะขอไปตั้งแต่เมื่อวาน จะได้ย้ายโรงแรม ถึงจะมีคนมาแก้ไข และการแก้ไขก็ไม่ถาวร...

We booked 3 nights and 2 rooms and it was a very good price. A short walk to the beach (as it’s not on its own beach) but the swimming pool is quite small for the size of the hotel itself. When we visited, there were lots of guests and most of them in the pool. If most of the guests are in the pool, it makes it difficult to get into the pool and there aren’t many sun beds. Breakfast was ok - definitely catered for the Chinese guests and had cereal, toast, eggs, pancakes, waffles for western guests. Again, not much room in the breakfast room for such a large hotel. Position wise, it was definitely a baht bus ride to white sands beach - it takes 20 minutes to walk on the main, busy road - I wouldn’t recommend walking. But a nice enough hotel, especially...

stay here now second time. First time in June was let's say ok. Now i stay here in September and I am very disappointed. I book for 3 nights and pay 6200 bath with breakfast. Seams ok for 2 person. But then I change the dates that I come 1 day early for 3 nights and they charged me 3500 bath. I won't that somebody explain to me, but nothing happened. So be careful. The resort pictures are better than the reality. This hotel have no beach when you want to stay at the beach the massage woman charge you 60 bath for the beach chair for 1 hour. So crazy. This place needs full renovation and new management. I am disappointed, never see me again...
