Silversand Restaurant — Restaurant in Rayong Province

I rarely if ever give anyone a terrible review and reluctantly only do so after expressing my displeasure to the venue itself in person, to deaf ears.

We noticed from the beach this place advertises itself as a steak bbq venue, so had expectations that we might at least get a half decent steak. Looking at the menu there’s a great picture of a grilled, well seared T-Bone. Ordered medium rare, 5 minutes later what was served was a boiled (yes boiled) to death piece of meat, devoid of all flavour which they attempted to enhance with a watery gravy like substance. Truly horrible! And yet when I pointed out the obvious difference between what was on the menu vs what was on the plate, our senior servers response was to ask “is it not medium rare?” Other dishes we ordered were just as sub standard.

My friend and I went there one evening and sat on the beach, initially feeling welcomed, but once we placed our order, the server began clearing all the tables around and turning off the outdoor lights. If they were closing, they should have just told us they weren't taking any more orders rather than making us feel like we were being kicked out barely 5 minutes after arriving !! What's worse, the servers add a 10% service charge that is not mentioned anywhere and that I have never seen in Thailand. To top it all off, on my bill of 297 baht (initially 270), I gave the server 300 baht and was waiting for my change, but the server never came back with it. I ordered Bolognese without garlic and there was so much garlic in it.. I could not eat it. They forgot 2 meals. And when we reminded them of the meals they did say that they just started to cook it. The two of us who got their meal were already finished by this time. When they finally brought the forgotten meals they even brought a Panang which wasnt a Panang.. Noone said sorry. They even forgot to bring us 2 beverages in the beginning. The communication and the memory of the service was horrible. We did not get an discount or an apology. Will never go there again!
