We wish we had NEVER booked into this 'hotel'|To say the rooms are basic is an understatement|The lady running this place could not care less about her guests, to be honest she is never actually there as she is too busy with her friends in the bar over the road (the bar is there specifically for male clientele!)|The TV never worked for our entire stay and when we reported this we were just given a look of disgust and told that there are no English channels anyway so you wouldn't be able to watch it|We booked in for 7 days and as we had pre paid on our credit card we were stuck there - the room was only cleaned twice including the changing of towels and emptying of bins, the bedding was never changed!|The place is filthy, badly maintained, falling apart, infested with ants and mosquitos (and yes we are aware this is a jungle location of which we have stayed in many and never had the problem of bugs like this) the water is just about warm in the shower|One night we had a large Scorpion on our balcony, we couldn't get in the room, we didn't know what to do as they can be dangerous, there were no staff around to help and no way of contacting them, we actually ended up going to silver sands resort with a photo of said Scorpion and asked for their assistance as they advised it was a dangerous one, they helped us out (thank god). I would hate to think what would have happened if one of us was stung by the Scorpion!!!!|On top of all of this the place is used as a knocking shop by the previously mentioned bar, and although for the majority of the time we were there we were the only guests on the ground floor they always seemed to use the room next to us slamming doors in the middle of the night etc etc it was not a nice experience!|I would avoid this place 100%, for the price you pay you can get a lot better in the vicinity or if you are willing to pay an extra 200 baht you can get a lovely room in Samed Villas which includes breakfast (so works out cheaper anyway as breakfast will cost you about...
Read moreStayed here about a week since lots of other accomodation was full hence christmas. The room was big enough, also bathroom. Shower was not best, but reliable. My bathroom had antz which i dont like, but otherwise no bugs inside. No cleaning at all the week i stayed there but got a bottle of water everyday. I wish they could clean the rooms, like take the garbage but had to fix this myself. The bed was not quite comfy, but i did sleep well enough. There is a ac and a fan in the room which i love. There is also a refrigerator in the room. Its simple, its basic but also good rates if on budget. I booked through Agoda app- seems like the best in Thailand. You'll have to walk a bit to get to the beach, but thats okei. There is also a bar not far from there and a little market where you can buy what you need. Not luxury accomodation- but good enough. My only wish: better bed and a kettle in the room for those who like their coffee. Anyway: its reasonable prices and everything is in walking distance. Remember bugspray - moskitos is around every night at 1730-1930 - ish on all island.. enjoy...
Read moreI was backpacking with a friend and we stayed at the Lost resort for one night and then decided to head back to Bangkok. Our choice was more related to the whole island rather than only to the lost resort. We checked into the lost resort after Jeps bungalow was fully booked out. Though Jeps bungalow was in the better location on the beach with nice breakfast the owner was terribly unfriendly whereas the lost resort staff was nice, rooms okay. ||However, we cannot recommend Ko Samet. After spending time on the islands (Ko Phangang, Ko Tao), Ko Samet is really sad, dirty, unfriendly, barely anybody speaks any words of English and no infrastructure (e.g. hospitals!), unorganized transportation etc. Our experience was so bad that we'd rather go back to Bangkok...
