On April 16th, I had the chance to visit Ao Phrao with my family. We traveled there by motorcycle. Although the sunlight around 10 a.m. was quite intense, the cool breeze made everything feel more refreshing.
The atmosphere at Ao Phrao was peaceful and serene. The sea water was clear, allowing us to see the sandy bottom. The blue of the ocean contrasted beautifully with the green of the surrounding trees. We took a stroll along the beach for a while. This bay is perfect for relaxing or swimming in the sea. We also had time to capture some lovely shots of the sea and sky, which looked bright and vivid at that time of day.
If you're planning to visit in the late morning or during the day, it’s best to bring a hat and sunscreen, as the sun can be quite strong. But if you prefer a more pleasant and cooler atmosphere, early morning or late afternoon would be more suitable. Since there aren't many shops around Ao Phrao, it's a good idea to bring your own drinking...
Read moreNice resort with great views specially for the breakfast...... unfortunately the the staff selected the best table of the whole establishment to make their morning meetings it seems.... well it started as a meeting then they went on browsing on their phones till 10:00! Obviously as a result no guest wanted to sit in that whole area!!! I feel sorry for the owner's or shareholders who obviously created an amazing resort and are let down by their management teams.
The restaurant service staff is nice and helpful but the food is super slow to arrive for dinner and the food...
Read moreThis is on the less busy side of samet. It's more pricey than elsewhere and you have only 3 resorts for food choices. The food is good.
The beach is beautiful with good snorkeling on the rocks and lots of starfish and fish.
This side of the island gets the sunsets which certainly add to the ambiance of an afternoon cocktail. The downside being that with the mountain behind and the sun rising on the other side, you won't get sun until nearly lunch time. If you sleep late the cooler mornings may...
