DO NOT BOOK, I REPEAT DO NOT BOOK! This place was a terrible experience from the get go. When we arrived and opened the door to our room it smelled like sewage. Heavily. Room smelled bad in and of itself, but worsened with the airconditioning on. After further inspection we noticed more things that were very unacceptable for a room of more than €100 a night. Bathroom smelled bad as well. Bathroom had an ants. Then we noticed that we were right next to what seems to be a janitors office with filled trashbags everywhere. Also, there's birdpoo everywhere on the terrace. Floor covered with poo, looked like it was never cleaned before. There was poo on the chairs outside, also the pillows they expect you to sit on had poo on them. Also the premise was filled with litter. Very disgusting and would have been very easy to fix. All of this resulted in us going to the reception to inquire about this. We've requested another room. Immediately we were told there is no other room available by the manager, fully booked, she said. They only thing that could be done at that point was that a technician could "fix" the airconditioning. Not exactly the solution we were looking for. When the technician came he confirmed the bad odour. His solution was to spray chemicals into to the AC unit. Not something we would accept since my girlfriend is pregnant and we wish to not cover up the poor maintenance by inhaling chemicals. We contacted booking.com via phone. It was then that the manager came to our room and miracuously, they were not fully booked anymore. There was a new room available for us. We thought it would be fair to give it a try and accepted to stay in the new room as nighttime was approaching. The new room was cleaner. Up to this point we were lenient and flexible (more than we should have been). The next day we woke up with soar throats from the AC unit. And then we found out that the shower was cold and not getting any warmer. This was the straw that broke the camels back. We went to the reception again to request a refund, and a rather arrogant different manager told us we would not be getting our money back. Despite the extremely poor condition of the room and frankly the entire resort. The restaurant and pool area look like something out of the 60s with zero maintenance ever done. Fake grass surrounding the pool looked stained greyish, you guess why. Sitting pouches on the beach looked dirty. After fixing a different hotel instead of this dumpster of a hotel we found out that booking.com erased our client chat support conversation. And while they first stated that we could get our money back if the new room would not be up to standard, they dissappeared very cowardly. Also now we receive an email from booking claiming we have never checked in. Thank god I've made pictures of the place. Use your brain and do not book here! These people do not care about your experience, they do not care about providing a nice place to stay, all they care about is a few extra bucks and not getting ban-hammered by booking.com. Terrible place. Update in response to your reply: I am happy in the sense that we do not have to spend anymore time at your hotel. Not happy in the sense that I feel pressed to leave a scathing review of your establishment. We gave you plenty of opportunity and time to improve the situation, but surely you understand we are not going to hassle with you everyday about things needed to be fixed right? That is not a holiday, that sounds like consulting. And a consulting I'm expected to pay for. That is wild. And since you brought up the other guests, there were more than a few unhappy faces. Could be unrelated or not, who knows. Either way, good luck with taking care of and looking after them. All the topics I raised are true. The ants were the least of our problems, honestly. If you would have shown any flexibility on our refund request, we probably would have accepted our partial loss and left it at that. Instead, you chose the alternative route of deflecting. Very unfortunate.

We had a great time and this resort fully lived up to our expectations. It's located somewhat at the end and south of Lamai beach which gives it (at least for us) a perfect balance of enough things to do and quietness that other parts of Lamai may lack. You don't get this feeling of being shoulder-to-shoulder like other more crowded beaches. The rooms have everything you need and are sufficiently spacious. There are also 3 beds suitable rooms which was great for us to accommodate our kids. The beach is nice and sandy (a little bit coarse not the powder type of sand). There are some rocks when you swim, I would advise to bring some of these swimming shoes. I swimmed without them, no problems encountered. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Although formally our rooms would need to be cleaned and tidied up every two days, it was done every single day and we were supplied with fresh towels (even separate beach towels) and with bottles of water. The resort is not located on a huge land plot which gives it a cosy feeling. To each his own, I don't like those gigantic resorts. The rooms might not be 100% contemporary style or modern in some ways but had everything we needed. They were clean and had a “fresh” feeling to them. The beds might be somewhat hard but personally I liked it. For only 300 Bath per hour, there was a massage option. Right at the beach, perfect with the relaxing sound of the sea. The manager is very helpful and on top of things. There is a nice corner and cafe to sit and watch the beach. Food and drinks are pretty good for reasonable prices. Of course it's a little more expensive than eating outside but I think compared to other hotels, prices are okay. A downside could be that the cafe closed at 21:00 hours. So you would need to go outside for some social drinks. If you want a vibrant "24 hours go crazy vibe", this would not be the best option. The direct surroundings don't have much to offer in this context but you can walk a little bit further (20 minutes or so) to centre Lamai to get a little bit more action. We didn't mind since we just liked the more quite and authenticity of this part of Lamai. There are enough supermarkets and ATMs though, just around the corner. I really liked the fact that we could have delicious dinners and could go to the 7-11 or other stores before we returned to our rooms. Laundry is not an issue either, just around the corner for 50 Bath per kilo (80 if you would add ironing to that). Final note, the local people were so incredibly kind and nice that this added to our warm feelings for this part and this resort. I can definitely recommend for families and other people who like to have a nice balance of beach, quietness and good vibes.

100% recommend for a relaxing stay. Recently stayed for four nights here, occupying two rooms and couldn't fault it. Reception staff were friendly and super helpful, we were even able to check in earlier as we arrived from an early flight. We were upgraded to a Deluxe Bungalow from a standard room (a lovely surprise, thank you!). Both rooms were super clean and spacious and serviced daily by housekeeping. Facilities are great, plenty of sunbeds by the pool or on the beach, you're also given pool towels to use. Complimentary use of a kayak and a paddle board also available. Onsite restaurant and bar if needed and also masseuses situated in a little hut over the beach. (Very relaxing and well worth a visit). There's a few restaurants walking distance nearby and a 7/11. Lamai viewpoint is very close and worth a visit. Alternatively you can walk along the beach for 10/15 minutes and reach plenty of other restaurants, bars, massage parlours, shops located in central Lamai. It's a shame they don't do one night stays (although I understand why) as we have one night back on the island later this month and we'd have definitely returned! Thanks for a great stay.

Review of 4U Resort Samui Before booking I spoke with Clement and told him what vibe I was looking for in my accommodation. Peaceful, On the beach, modern and comfortable. He assured me this was Where I wanted to be, so I booked. As soon as I arrived I felt I made a great choice. The place is so chill. The bungalows are mixed in with palm trees 🌴 and other natural vegetation. I am able to hear the waves crashing at the sea from the room if I leave the large sliding glass door open or sit on the balcony. I walk 50 meters and my feet are in the sand with a great beach to swim in. Every person working here seems to carry a smile with them. Having a massage setup right here on the beach is like wow. The on-sight restaurant is perfect and there are still many other places to venture out to. If you are looking for a party environment, this probably isn’t the place for you on-sight, however a quick taxi ride gets you anywhere you want to be. I found silver beach aka crystal beach as a great spot 10 minutes away for a wonderful place to feel the party vibe on the beach with other travelers. Here at Lamai beach it is large and quite. I came each morning for sunrise to do yoga and meditate. It’s that kind of vibe. If you want peace and relaxation… please come visit 4U Resort in Samui. The staff is so helpful and accommodating. From suggestions where to visit to arranging taxi and car and scooter rental. One of the biggest things I felt like was I was cared for. I had a an illness show up (not related to the hotel) and Clement helped me organize Where to go for treatment and made sure I got there.
