Casa De Mar Samui — Hotel in Ko Samui

Location of the hotel is amazing is about 10 mins from the airport.||If you are looking for a relaxing front beach Hotel Casa de Mar is an option. ||At arriving at hotel I realized I forgot my passport and they helped me to get it back, and called the airport for them, that was appreciated a lot.||Rooms:|The hotel is really nice and cozy, rooms are great, clean and spacious. I recommend, if you can, to book a Villa because they are next to the pool, if you book a normal room you have to go down from the main the building into the pool and the restaurant which is also ok but it depends on what you want!||The Village bathroom is amazing is big and spacious and you have a bathub and asmall terrace, just asked them some reoelent for mosquitosss for the terrace cause there are many!||Restaurant:|The restaurant view, service, staff and food are superb, I recommend you to book with the breakfast buffet which is delicious!|||What not everyone says:||I asked for a quiet villa, and is like I told them I want the loudest one, they just put me in one that is behind of what I believe is like theis water treatment plant and it was just so noisy every time it was turned on, and it will be turned on even at night several times!||To be honest everything was almost perfect, I was looking for aplace to relax but it was ruined by people Smoking Weed, so if you have kids or you don't like the smell of weed, is horrible, I will be laying on the beach beds, relaxing, not bithering anyone and then you will get the smell of weed coming your way, and is not only me there are a lot families with little kids, and other people that also don't like it.||Even the hotel place signals of not smoking weed in this area, people do not follow it and the worst is that hoarea staff also do not say anything, maybe because they are afraid of customer getting mad, but they need to tell them, to respect the hotel rules and the hotel also can also just designate one area were they can smoke if they want.||I am not against guests smoking weed because they like it and is legal, but not to smoke anywhere and in public areas, because no everyone likes it. and They will smoke in the rooms, in the balconies, in the restaurant, in the beach beds everywhere and hotel never said anything to them!||so that's for the hotel to...

We spent 3 nights in this hotel, the place, the views and the workers are impeccable. But we did not like the motorcycle rental service at all. Near the hotel there are rental shops for 200bt, but for convenience and thinking that the motorcycles offered at the hotel would be safer, we rented them here for 300bt. When they brought us the motorcycle, the boy made us sign the contract quickly, almost without giving us time to take photos. When the boy left, we realized that the odometer did not work, the front brake and position light did not work, and the chinstrap on the helmet was broken. In addition, the tank is empty, and when we went out to the hotel road to go to load it, we saw the same guy who brought us the motorcycle was selling gasoline, it was a motorcycle store (BumpaTravel). He called us to go buy it and tried to sell us the bottle (supposedly 1 liter) for 50 bt, when in the other gas bottle stores they sell it for 40 bt and at the gas station the liter was 38 bt. They simply try to do business renting and selling gasoline. We filled the tank at the gas station and at the end of the stay we returned it with a full tank (we didn't have time to spend it), and they didn't deduct anything for it (that is, we gave them gasoline to resell, I guess those are the bottles that then they sell). It is not the economic aspect that bothered us, but we cannot understand that a hotel offers this to its clients, they are very unsafe motorcycles, and they try to deceive the client. We discussed this with the guy at the reception but he didn't give us any solution. Do not rent...

This was a really difficult one for me to judge. Im somewhere between a 3/4.

Location: I was under the impression it was beachfront. It's not, or wasn't while I was there, it is seafront - there's no beach. During high tide there is no sign of sand. At low tide I saw about 3 square meters of beach which was being brushed by water constantly. You could not lay on the beach. Everyday we saw people arrive with their beach bag, only to turn around and leave. We did the same. This seems to be everyone's first day ritual - so it's not advertised very accurately. Also, it's quite a walk from most things, I didn't mind, I needed the exercise. The local area has been devastated by covid.

Facilities: The pool was nice because it was very quiet when we were there but there's only 12 loungers so if you're booking at a busy time you may be bitterly dissapointed. The gym looked good but no water provided inside. The room was acceptable. Bathroom a bit small.

Breakfast: This was the best part. Egg station and a full compliment of western options and some Thai options each day.

Staff: Quite attentive but we booked a taxi on our last day and it was 15 minutes late and no-one told us we had to pay at reception. Only then did we get our taxi. I think it was forgotten.

Prices in the restaurant were a little higher than average and it just all felt like a bit of a let down. We choose to leave rather than extend beyond our initial 3 night booking. I would start for a couple of nights to gawk at channel but then leave to one of the nicer parts...
