Hi.. I visited here about a week ago with my friend and had a wonderful time. Rented a villa with pool view which was very spacious and kept very clean. Large fridge, kettle, cooking facilities. Oven and hop. Which we never used as it's quite cheap to eat out. Two air conditioning units one in bedroom and one in living area ,we only needed the one which was quite sufficient. Large ceiling fan. Large bath and rain shower. Clean towels every day. Bed liñen white and changed every second day. I never got this service in a five star. Large outside patio to sit out in the evening with umbrella. Never saw any bugs just a few ants which was so good for a tropical climate. I expected to be invaded. Breakfast was good plenty to choose from no complaints. Tea coffee, yogurt, local fresh fruit, cereal, cakes, snacks, eggs to order cooked fresh. Cooked food hot in trays I didn't eat as I like a light breakfast. Bacon sausage and Thai food etc. Restaurant food for lunch was good bit dearer than some places but was handy when it's beside you. Staff very friendly and helpful. Family run business so they were very nice to us and made us feel very welcome. They get to know all there customers which is nice. They were very helpful with tours, renting out scooters and organising transport. Pheong was a lovely girl think she was daughter of the boss and helped us so much. Hope I spelled you name right. This little resort is right on a beautiful beach and across the road is the village. I think it has the best spot on the beach. Lady's on the beach give great massage for about 10euro so cheap. 10 mini taxi from chaweng and 10 mini to fisherman village. About 5 euro each way. I give ps Thana 5 stars as I had the best holiday. Clean, tidy nice gardens. Lovely pool and cleaned every day . Good staff, and good value for accomodation. Hope to...
Read moreThis review is based totally on our experience of booking a BEACHFRONT BUNGALOW, we did not see any of the other rooms or the resort as a whole so unable to comment on that. |Although the staff we met at PS Thana were lovely and helpful I just wanted to caution others thinking of booking the beachfront bungalow - |We booked the beachfront bungalow directly with the hotel after seeing photos on their website. We were prepared for the accommodation to be basic, this is reflected in the price. However, on checking in we realised that there are two beach bungalows , one is facing the beach with a small seating area looking out to the beach /sea - not at all private as there are rows of sunlounges steps away from you ( not shown on website photos) However the other bungalow is at the back of this one NOT beachfront. There is a small window but this has no view at all. The outside seating area looks out onto restaurant /reception . |We felt that the photos online were misleading as they only show one of the bungalows. If youre just looking for a base at a resort, a clean room for a cheap price then this would fit the bill. However it wasn’t what we thought we had booked. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to check out (a refund was processed 7 days later ) but as all the other rooms in the resort were fully booked we then had to find alternative accommodation at very short notice, not a great start to our holiday in Koh Samui. On a positive note we spoke to people who were staying at the PS Thana and they loved it, it was just a shame we were unlucky with our...
Read moreWe were very disappointed the last day after 20 nights at the PS Thana Resort. As no guest was in our room the day after us, we asked the permission to stay only 2 hours more, until 2:00 PM, due to our return flight was at 4:30 PM. The Manager agreed only if we pay an additional 500 THB. That was very inappropriate when we are stayed 20 nights and paid 63,839 THB (for a one-bedroom house with kitchen and a pool view), plus when we paid several breakfasts and taxi services.
So we refused to pay for the ridiculous extra and left earlier. It's a shame this behaviour of the management because the rest of the staff was smiling and friendly, especially with our child.
Other weaknesses of the hotel: Air conditioning without cold air into bedroom of our house number 207 (fortunately, the one in the living room worked), Lack of basic utensils in the kitchen (e.g. no colander for rice, only two knives even though there were three guests), Only coffee tables, no dining table, Aging and poorly maintained equipment and buildings (worn deckchairs, broken pool elephant, abandoned children's game, etc). We fell that there is no investment for maintening.
Important note: The hotel charges a 4% surcharge for all card payments (we discovered this during the check-in).
We do not recommend this hotel which considers you as a wallet. We will not...
