I used to know it from my lazy days at Sala Samui, and yep, it’s still one of Ko Samui’s top-tier beaches, right up there with Chaweng Noi. If beaches had an elite club, Choeng Mon would definitely be on the VIP list.

The sand? Smoother than a Thai massage on a Tuesday. The water? So clear you’ll start judging your drinking water at home. Perfect for swimming, floating like a starfish, or just dramatically pretending you’re in a perfume commercial.

And now… drumroll please… the real gem: that adorable little island (เกาะเล็กๆน่ารักมาก!) just off the shore! At low tide, you can actually walk across to it like some sort of tropical Moses. It’s perfect for mini-adventures, selfies, or just yelling “I’ve discovered land!” to your friends.

Ideal for families, couples, solo travelers, or wandering bat-creatures like me. It’s peaceful, not too crowded, and has just the right amount of beach bars to keep your coconut hydrated inside and out.

Tucked away on the serene north side of Koh Samui 🏝, Choeng Mon Beach is a hidden gem that instantly captures your heart. We made our way here from Fisherman’s Village, chasing the golden hour—and what we found was pure magic.

The soft, powdery sand beneath our feet 👣, the gentle sea breeze whispering through the palm trees, and that endless ocean view—it’s the kind of place where time seems to slow down. As the sun dipped low, the beach came alive with vibrant colors and mellow party vibes that made the whole scene feel straight out of a dream.

With a refreshing cocktail in hand 🍹 and the sky glowing in shades of orange and pink, every moment felt like a snapshot of paradise. A peaceful stroll along the shore turned into an unforgettable memory, with laughter, music, and the rhythm of the waves setting the perfect mood.

This was our final stop for the day after a 6hr driving tour through the north eastern sights of Samui. I had hoped that being the final stop we’d have a nice relaxing 45-1hr swim here at what was meant to be a beautiful beach.

It was not. I can only review what I saw on the day, other days may have been better but our day was not.

The sand was littered with garbage literally everywhere, no one was cleaning it up, not even any of the beach bar staff. The water was cloudy and full of garbage, plastic everywhere.

When I first entered I saw kids wearing snorkels and goggles so I thought ‘great! The kids will love it’. I’m not sure what those people were expecting to see?! The elusive ‘chip wrapper snapper’ or the ‘condom carp’. It was disgusting and I wouldn’t go there again. Maybe there was a storm or a cruise ship let its trash out somewhere, but the rubbish was unavoidable.
