The Mother Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Yesterday evening ate there for the first time and it was really super tasty!!! The delicious dishes are prepared according to your wishes (spiciness) and extra chilies are additionally served if needed. The whole family works in the restaurant and the boss is incredibly friendly. Here I like to come back and can only recommend it to everyone to go eat there.

Meanwhile, we were three times in this wonderful restaurant as guests, directly on the "main street", the fourth time follows guaranteed... Thai dishes (Pad Thai, Som Tam, Green Mango Salad, etc.) just totally delicious and price performance very good. In Choeng Mon it is quite similar everywhere (offer & prices), but here everything is just somehow a tad better... In addition, you can choose the fresh fish "live" in advance itself, I love that in Thailand. In fact, currently the only restaurant here that offers that, others obviously do without it because too few visitors come, I find very sad. Here it is just different and that makes this restaurant even more special, simply world class, I find totally super. In other places you always do not know, frozen, old or fresh ... In any case, "The Mother" is always worth a visit: loving team, super friendly boss who is always open for a conversation and fantastic food. For the first time we visited this restaurant year ago and it was very nice, Asian, European and Chinese food restaurant, lots of flavours, quick service.

Unfortunately this time it was a big disappointment. We went there again to taste the delicious Chinese food. But even if they advertise as Chinese restaurant on the menu was nothing Chinese, only Thai and European food. The headings on the menu said Chinese food so I asked the waitress to show me where is the Chinese food - she was totally confused (her English was good) and she called her colleague. He then brought specials menu of the day written in Chinese. When I asked what is on this menu none of them knew what is written there. So no training whatsoever and it almost seemed they didn't even know they are working in Chinese restaurant. So we ordered classic Thai food, it arrived within 5 minutes and except fish cakes the taste was blend and not worth the money we spend it on. If there was change of owner please train your staff properly and don't advertise as a Chinese restaurant anymore as it is very misleading. Unfortunately this restaurant went downhill and we will definitely not...

This is super cheating, we order only 3 boil rice, an omelette and morning glory stir fried and asked if he could drop at our hotel as the owner said he could drop food for us for free because it is like 1 km.from his restaurant and that time has no customer at the shop and since our kids are so sick and could not get out of the hotel to have dinner. Then we went to paid at the restaurant after that like 30 mins later, we gave him 500THB and he did not have the change because the total cost should be around 250 THB finally my husband came and ask for the change he gave back 90 THB and said this is the total cost of our food. So 410THB sounds incredibly expensive for those food. We feel like he took advantage and consider like cheating person. We do not recommend this restaurant and will absolutely not...
