My first stay in Phuket. The rooms are big and we love the private pool in our unit. Service is awesome. August, the soft-spoken front line staff was helpful to call the guided tour company when it didn't send the driver.
The resort has activites lined up for both adults and kids. My family took the bike activity and was served by a friendly guide who tried to engage my family.
Breakfast in buffet style at Talad was awesome. I was pleasantly surprised to see detox juices from cucumber, kale. Didn't try that but only tried beetroot juice. Talad serves a good spread of food and drinks. There is Japanese miso soup, Chinese porridge, salads, fruits like papayas, rock melons, passion fruits and pastries. There are mini doughnuts, muffins and pastries When my child returned the next day, she tried to look fore passion fruits but could not find the cut ones. A male staff from the kitchen was quick to observe and came over to ask. He quickly came out with a place of cut passion fruits.
Turtle village, across the resort has a mixture of restaurants (Korean Banchon, Western like Pizza Place), pub, Starbucks, 7 eleven and even UOB ATM. Wish there was a market that sells apparel and bags. Everything is perfect except that it's too far from Old Town Phuket and there is no shuttle service. They offer buggy rides to the beach to compensate for being secluded.
This is a good place to chill if you prefer tranquil environment away from the crowds. There is a kids club in this resort where you can park your kids at the kids club while you chill.
There is a washer and dryer so you can travel light. The resort provided detergent and there is a kitchenette.
The housekeeping staff are an awesome bunch. They make an effort to mop the living room and I noticed they do some cleaning even under the bed. They are quick to look into the guest's request. The furnishings look new.
The staff are generally friendly and helpful.
Do be cautious, it's a LGBT friendly resort. Only realised it when we reached our room, with the note about...
Read morePoor experience. Considering that I travel a lot, my conclusion - the hotel is not worth money asked. We rented 3-bedroom apartment. 1300 usd per night. ++. Breakfast is good, Beach is close The building is old. AC is so loud, you can’t use it at night at min even. 6 guests: 4 plates, 3 forks. Everything were delivered promptly but should I ask for 1300 per night? Every single door was either loose, or made awful sound, or slammed uncontrollably. Beds and sheets are not suitable for this type of climate, so you will most likely have intertrigo due to feather bedding. And the thing I disliked mostly - it is an apartment. They put some water, sodas and beer in the fridge. It is the fridge you use in your kitchen. No sign or info that is was mini-bar and those drinks are at extra-cost. It is fridge in 1300 usd per night apartment, for gods sake… I have never met sodas at additional cost other than complimentary when I stay at such hotels. Same situation with the chips, they left in the kitchen, at the place where families with kids stay… So, upon check-out, they added 200 usd for this goods. When I asked where would I see it was the mini-bar, they answered: “you need to scan a wooden cube close to tv, to find out it was a mini-bar”. Feels like a fraud… Minor hotels, I have credits from Anantara and Avani staying, but I will delete my membership and try to never stay in your hotels, because you are not worth...
Read moreI have very bad experience with this hotel management. I called hotel 2months in advance to check room availability during april 9-10 and condition of using voucher. The reservation told me just check black out period and they still have room available on that date. I bought voucher and called back in afternoon same day to book room turning out that hotel did not accept voucher during April although its non-black out period shown on voucher.
After several calls, they offered me to stay after april17. I told them that transportation schedule is fixed and it takes effort to visit phuket (12 hour drive or pay for a flight) so It's zero chance that I will use voucher before it's expired. Reservation officer admitted that room is still available but its up to management's decision.
What a stressful moment you have given to customers! I deserve happiness for my holidays but you ruined it with a very unprofessional client management..2 months in advance , non-black out period, call to confirm hotel before booking..why dont you put the clause" its also subject to management's decision" on voucher?
I have good experience with other AVANI hotels but Im sorry that I will not stay in any AVANI hotels AGAIN because of AVANI mai khao's...
