⭐️⭐️ (2/5 stars) Disappointing Reputation and Lack of Confidence to Dine
We had planned to dine at La Sala during our visit to Anantara Mai Khao, as part of a day experience while considering the Anantara Vacation Club membership. After an incredible spa treatment at the resort, we were genuinely looking forward to relaxing over a nice Indian meal here.
However, before placing an order, we decided to glance at some recent reviews — and were honestly taken aback by the consistent negative feedback. Many guests described the food as bland, overpriced, and not up to the standards expected at a five-star resort. Given how important food is in shaping our overall experience, this really gave us second thoughts.
Ultimately, we decided not to dine here and politely informed the staff that we were choosing to leave due to the volume of poor reviews. While the staff handled our feedback professionally and respectfully, it’s disappointing that a restaurant in such a premium resort carries such a weak reputation — especially when it should be a highlight of the guest experience.
We hope the management takes the feedback seriously and makes improvements, because the setting and service deserve to be matched by a truly high-quality, flavourful dining offering. For now, however, we unfortunately can’t recommend...
Read moreWe were excited to come to this restaurant as it was Michelin recommended. Unfortunately it did not deliver and were quite disappointed. My wife and I ordered the veggie and meat set meal which should have featured their main dishes. It came out lukewarm and many of the small dishes I questioned if it was freshly made or just reheated. The main disappointment is the flavor. All the dishes were bland and lacking flavor and spice. We love Indian food and travelled globally to experience eating all the varieties and this did not make the cut. We even ordered raita to accompany the meal and it was forgotten. In the end, we couldn’t finish the meal as it was just not good and the waitress didn’t care to ask and quickly gave the bill to clear the table.
The place is modern and overall service is decent but should not be A MICHELIN RECOMMEND RESTAURANT. There are better options around especially for the high price...

We only ordered off of the Indian menu because we love Indian food! We got the two set meals, one vegetarian and the other, non- vegetarian. Neither set was good. We asked for medium spice and spicy for the other, neither had any spice. Then the flavor of the dishes was lacking, to the point where there were dishes that had NO FLAVOR (like the potatoes). The only thing that was good was the mint chutney. And the naan was acceptable, being freshly baked. We left more than half of the meal, because it just wasn’t worth it.
To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We cannot believe that this restaurant is on the Michelin guide list. Do not come here for the Indian food.
They also have a Thai section, perhaps that...
