The restaurant is in the premises of Anantara Villas resort which is one of Phuket’s leading 5 star beachfront properties. The restaurant is virtually built over a large Banyan tree, and has just 20 chairs and sofas of seated arrangement, around an upscale bar stand. Coming here with children is not a good idea. It is more an adult only place. The seating is all open-air, no air conditioning, so mosquitoes are definitely coming for a bite. Make sure you get repellent spray right away. Overall is an impression that one sits in a jungle. I was attracted by Arabic menu option which turned to be shortlisted but up to the point. And yes, chef Sunny does exist and he is what makes this place unforgettable for its dining experience.
Expected price-tag 80-100 USD per person with no alcohol.

Read moreOmakase was super underwhelming. It wasn’t anything that any other sushi restaurant couldnt offer.
The atmosphere was wonderful, nice and private for dates and casual dinner. The staffs were amazing - super friendly, caring, and attentive. We loved the girl who was serving us, she was so nice and wonderful. They also gave us a surprise cake for my partner’s birthday - we assume they learned the information from the hotel since we never mentioned it.
Apart of the 10/10 service, the food was alright. I enjoy that the portion matches their price. It’s a relatively affordable omakase price but none of the piece was memorable. It tasted good but nothing super special. The best dish was the oyster - the first bite, that was a great first impression, very fresh and delicious but every after that was okay.
Loved when they used to be an afternoon tea house almost 10 years ago. Excited to see...
Read moreTried their (new?) Kaiseki course and it was very disappointing, all courses were served immediately all at once which isn't how a Kaiseki should be served. All of the food was served cold (even the miso soup) which really says a lot of the food quality. It almost like they wanted to rush the service (bear in mind I had a reservation) and have us out the door in the shorted time possible.
However I do see other patrons who ordered the omakase course instead have their courses served one after another and with better patience, so I guess my feedback is that if the restaurant is not keen on offering a Kaiseki...
