Penthouse Pattaya ||Pattaya ||No! Just no ||988346516 ||NO!! Just no!!||Review of Penthouse Pattaya||Reviewed 5 weeks ago||Ok, we have been here multiple times before they closed when covid hit and were the last to leave when it closed. I heard that it re-opened under a new owner and thought we would go back...big mistake!||So, I tried to book the stay through their website, wouldn't work, tried a few more times on different days, the same thing. So, I tried to call them on the numbers on their website, can't get through it says check the number on both numbers. Send them an email, no reply, did that a few times as well. I should have given them a miss and gone somewhere else by now, but I thought they have a Line account so contacted them through that, only took them 2 days to reply!!||I told them I wanted a specific room on the pool deck, they said it wasn't available on a few of the days I wanted, so offered me the room next door, that was ok, so I got them to confirm that, and they said to book through booking .com which I did. As they used to provide free airport pick up, I ordered that as well they said 1000 baht, that's ok agreed to that.||To the stay.||Arrive at the hotel around 11pm tired and go to sign in, first thing they say is give the driver 1000 baht cash and they want a deposit for the room of 1000 baht cash, would have been good to know that before I got there, straight from the airport, they don't accept credit card!!! so had to wander around Pattaya trying to find a money changer that was still open! get back to the hotel and they give us a room key for a different room! I said you confirmed the room I wanted and showed them the Line message, they said the room is unavailable as the toilet broke! I said when and he replied about 4 weeks ago! before I booked the room! So, I agreed to take the other room for the night on the condition they move us in the morning to another room on the pool deck that someone is leaving from in the morning.||In the room was 1 towel nothing else, an empty bar fridge, not even bottled water! (I don't know what the 1000-baht deposit was for as there is nothing to steal!), a window that was painted over and pretty much the worst room in the hotel. The safe in the room doesn't work, so I go back to reception, they said use the key! ok but it has a keypad, so back to the room and try and use this little key in a dark room (most of the light bulbs are blown!).||The next morning move to the room on the pool deck that supposedly had just been vacated, open the door and nearly fall over from the worst urinal smell ever!!, absolutely disgusting, I would say no one has been in the room for months if not years, run finger over anything and its covered in grime, so back to reception, tell them to get a cleaner in there!, wait an hour and they have cleaned the room, safe doesn't work again so again back to reception, they give me another key, that doesn't work, so back again, they send up the maintenance guy, he looks at it and says yes it doesn't work and walks out. Back to reception again and they said they will have someone come up and replace the safe. didn't happen that day. Also to note is they don't have a hair dryer in the room, (reception said they are waiting on them from China...ok) they have a kettle but no tea bags in case you want any, if you want some be prepared to ask 3 or 4 times before you get one.||The next day safe is still not fixed, ask again and they said it would be tomorrow! also the pool on the pool deck is only half full of water and has a healthy algae farm growing in it. Ask when it will be fixed and it's a don't know haven't seen the pool guy for a few days! The room doesn't get made up so ask for some clean towels, offered to take them up but they said no room service will bring them up... didn't happen.||The next day the maintenance guy turns up with a safe that looks like he found it on the dump, covered in dust that he proceeds to brush off in the room and puts the safe on the floor! just sitting there in the middle of the room! at least this one works! finally work out that if you want clean towels or sheets or anything done you need to go to reception and demand for your room to be made up!!||The next morning around 8am the guy in the next room decides it's a good idea to play Punjabi disco music at full blast on the boom box that is supplied in the room!! Go out to complain to reception and here's a staff member just standing around in the corridor, told him to tell the neighbor to turn it down and he says he'll tell reception! only takes them about an hour to be banging on his door!!! That night when returning to the hotel have a group of about 6 Farang men blocking the entrance to the hotel, making some horrible offers to any female walking past to come up to their room! real classy! the door man just standing there watching!||The final day of our stay... what a relief to get out of there! never again!!!||The guy that bought the hotel has absolutely no idea on how to run a hotel, apparently, he owns an Indian Nightclub on walking street, hopefully he runs that better. I think he needs to start from scratch and maybe spend a bit more money on running the place properly and not try to run it on peanuts, he also should be more concerned about the guests and not making sure that security keeps an eye on his Mercedes parked outside so no one touches it!||I should also mention that if you get breakfast in the little restaurant there, be prepared to get a different thing to what you ordered each time, an English breakfast was meant to come with bacon and 2 eggs, but it can be no bacon, or sausages, or a pancake, or 1 egg or no eggs and if you want coffee make sure you ask for a clean cup!!! ||It's a shame really, the hotel itself has always been quirky and different and a lot of fun with the people that stay there, it could be good again, but I won't be staying there again with how its run...

Read moreFirst of all, if you are not visiting Pattaya mainly for sex tourism then this is definitely not your place.
The good thing about this place is the artsy presentation. Someone worked hard to make it a very adult artsy place. It is something to see. I think they went a little overboard and made it kind of gaudy but it is a work of art for sure. I added a second star for the artistic appeal.
Many bad things though. The place is old. It has not been properly maintained. There are exposed electrical wires in places and it generally smells like mold and old cigarettes. It is also just dirty. There was a large brown stain on the curtains in my room that I did not want to know about. There were noticeable holes in the sheets. They appear to not care about that kind of presentation. I had to turn in my key and ask them to get the room cleaned. The staff basically delivers but they are pretty much totally indifferent. They spend a lot of time in their literature talking about the two bars on site but they both appear to be permanently closed.
The bigger problem was that we never had hot water. I went down on the first day and said that we did not have hot water and they immediately offered to change my room. They did not ask to diagnose my hot water problem or suggest that a fix was going to happen they just offered the room change. I did end up changing but there was no hot water in the new room either so it did not help.
I originally booked the “Party Patpong” suite. It was very badly designed. It was much smaller than it looked on the website and it had no clear bathroom. There was a round bathroom sink against the wall in the middle of the room with no counter or other flat surface around it at all. The only way to get clean was in the big jacuzzi tub. It was a nice tub if you want a jacuzzi but not so great if you just want to clean yourself. Even just for a jacuzzi it was bad because the water was cold. There was no curtain or barrier between the tub and the room so you had to be extremely careful or just wet the whole room including the bed. In general the rooms were not designed for typical hotel usage so regular things like taking a shower and brushing your teeth were hard. Definitely don’t recommend the Party Patpong room. I moved to the “Babylon Spa Suite” which was much bigger and better but still very dirty. It had a better bathroom area and was generally more functional. I strongly recommend this room if you give this place a try.
The last issue was with payment. I reserved my room online and they required full payment for the full reservation time. I reserved 7 days. When I got there I had an emergency and needed to leave sooner. They have a strict no refund policy so there is no amount of notice that gets you a refund. They did give me a credit for next time so that is something. Even if I had not had the emergency I would not have been able to handle staying there more than a day or two and would have moved to a "real" hotel. I went to them and told them that I had no hot water and my room smelled bad and was badly designed but they did not offer any kind of compensation other than offering me a new room which was not much better. If you are a dedicated sex tourist and you do decide to take a chance on this hotel you should definitely reserve it for a day or two and then extend if you want to. Once you give them your money they will be keeping it and you are likely to be unhappy with the...
