I send clients to Thailand for medical treatment not available in North America. I had 4 clients booked to arrive April 15, during Songkran festival. The rooms were booked in advance and fully paid for in cash. Upon arrival the 4 clients were denied their rooms as the owner/manager decided to sell them to visiting tourists from China as they were willing to pay much more for these rooms. After a much debated and heated disagreement with my clients and my agent the owner redirected my clients to another hotel (called the T2 Jomtien) that he owned. Arriving there my clients were given 4 rooms downstairs 4 levels into the basement that were basically storage rooms with dirty beds, dirty linen, dirty sheets, dirty floors and the rooms were dark, smelly and moldy, no locking doors and no means of escape in an emergency except back up 4 flights of stairs. My clients refused these rooms and proceeded outside and up the street where they located a much better hotel and paid for 4 rooms again. The owner of the SunSky has refused a refund of any kind. Local restaurants and bars in Jomtien that have referred me and my clients to the SunSky in the past are stunned and shocked by the greedy behaviour of this owner and have clearly stated that they will no longer refer customers to the SunSky. I would advise anyone to avoid this hotel at all costs and book elsewhere. The owner is greedy, rude, selfish and abusive. He prefers to rent rooms to people from his own country only which is not Thailand. I have booked my clients into the SunSky in the past but I will no longer book this hotel and I would advise anyone else to...
Read moreEasy to find on Soi 9, only 30 metres from Beach road and 7/11 shop. Room was clean and spacious and was adequate for a few nights .No food or drink available at hotel (not even a fridge with water/coke/beer in reception). Cleaning staff very good but reception not so. Had to pay B500 key deposit and then they would not give money back until I produced the carbon copy of the receipt they had given me, in addition to the returned key card, which required me to unpack the car and search through the cases to find where I had put it. Whilst my family and others were using the small pool one of the pool lights floated to the surface causing a bit of panic to exit the water. Reception did not seem to care and had to be told more than once to get the maintenance guy. He arrived 5 mins later and prodded the floating light (which appeared to be smoking/steaming) with his finger BEFORE he went to switch off the power. 10 mins later, having re soldered the wiring, he replaced it in the pool and switched the power back on. Other lights ok this one not now working at all. Did not watch any more, but noted the following evening people were swimming in the pool all lights except this one working meaning the power was switched on. We did not use the pool again, not wishing to become one of Thailand's...
Read moreEfter about five years since our last visit, when the hotel had just opened, we returned for another stay, and we were not disappointed.||It does have its faults and quirks, but that is not why i subtracted a point. ||It was the fact that there has been complaints by several other reviewers since a long time back, and these issues had not been properly addressed during our stay.||One point especially worrying was the state of the underwater lighting in the pool.||Perhaps it is 12V DC lighting and non-lethal(wishful thinking on my part), but the management really should make sure that someone professional secure it properly. (see photos)||||That said, the staff was wonderful, really kind and helpful. A friend who had visited our room had lost her keys, and the maid went through all the sacks of garbage to see if they had ended up there, no hesitation...
