Ice Queen — Restaurant in Pattaya City

Went this morning.. totally empty (not unusual at 11 o clock).. 2 employees nice as usual in Thailand but totally incompetent.. on top of it didn't understand a word of English. Tried to ask if one ice cream was sorbet or ice-cream.. didn't know. Finally made out it was written sorbet on the label but not very visible. Bought 4 types of ice/sorbet. 2 pots were already prepared.. while I was choosing some pastries the male employee filled up the 2 other pots.. first thing done was the bill, then process of packing 2 cakes, pack the pots was too long. I don't know how long they may take if there is a certain quantity of customers. When opening the boxes after lunch, made out they were far from being full when both ready made pots were correct.. Price is high, and even more when you don't get the quantity you pay for.. quality is OK.. other point pots which are not prepared in advance have no label indicating the type of ice cream, so you need to open it to see what is inside. I have been this ice cream shop 7-8 times since they started business last year. The first time I was impressed with services and attitude from staff which made customer enjoy and relax even the ice cream taste is just average ok. I always want to support local business instead of go to brand ice cream in town. Last few times visit I found staff in the shop had no willing to serve customer, I could not find a friendly service from them anymore. Also my last visit in last July, staff was abit cold and not attentive to our table. Only one poor girl as an waitress serve customer 5 to 6 table while 4 to 5 staff standing behind cashier and kept chatting to each other. They might think they are only ice cream shop in this area. I first noticed this place while walking by so I decided to stop in and was pleasantly surprised as to how good the ice cream is! I ordered 1 scoop then but wished I had ordered 2 by the time I finished. The chocolate brownie is delicious!

I came back another time and had their 3-scoop brownie split, which was also very delicious. I also like that they give you a free small glass of filtered water to drink with your ice cream.

The place is clean and the staff is helpful and friendly.

This review only loses a star because they don't accept credit card payments. While they do accept QR payments, you need a local Thai bank to use it here so tourists must still resort to cash,...
