THE IDEAL RESORT FOR PAMPERING AND RELAXATION
I was really looking forward to a quiet relaxing getaway where I can swim, exercise, eat well and pamper myself and the Aleenta Phuket Resort & Spa surpassed all my expectations.
I booked the Ocean View Loft for my stay and was extremely happy with the choice. The loft is incredibly spacious with a very hip modern interior design and plenty of natural light. Upon entering the room you immediately notice the two story full wall window facing the infinity pool that blends into the bluest ocean and sky. It's a view that will leave you standing in place for a few minutes taking it all in! The sliding doors open to your private terrace with steps to the pool and two sun-loungers which were an ideal place for enjoying the late afternoon sun and watching the incredible sunsets. On the second level of the loft there is a huge king size bed with the softest sheets and linens. The comfortable bed provided the ideal rest that I needed after long days in the sun. The high ceiling of the loft meant that I could enjoy the same ocean views from bed and waking up to these views everyday was just breathtaking! The loft has a large bathroom with all the amenities you would expect from a five-star hotel, including a superb shower and a Jacuzzi bath. The room had good internet WiFi coverage and I never had any issues with reception in the entire resort. The room was impeccably cleaned and I enjoyed the complimentary fresh fruit that was provided every day.
The highlight of the Aleenta resort is unquestionably its long beautiful paradise-like beach which you will practically have to yourself. There are no disturbing beach-games, no hawkers, no noisy jet-skis, no litter, no seaweed; just a calm and relaxing atmosphere accompanied by the sound of the ocean waves breaking on the sand. I spent most days at the beach on comfortable sun loungers and absolutely loved every relaxing minute. The hotel staff regularly checked if I required anything and provided complimentary ice-cold water.
Breakfast had a very good selections with many types of coffees, teas and fresh juice drinks. Having breakfast at the beach restaurant with its stunning ocean-views was a wonderful way to start the day. To be honest, I only had one meal out of the resort but if you like good food and are willing to have a mix of not just Thai, Western and Asian fusion, everything is available at the restaurant at Aleenta.
The Aleenta Spa is also of the highest standard. The professional staff made me feel special from the moment I arrived. Not only did the quality of the massage exceed expectations, but the whole process from reception to the lounge space afterwards, was clearly designed to give guests the highest level of experience. The gym at the Aleenta is spacious and modern with all the training equipment anyone would require. Small towels and drinking-water was provided.
During my stay I also booked the hotels guided tour to "James Bond Island." The boat ride was included in addition to kayaking among tall cliffs and through sea-caves. On the way back we spent about an hour relaxing on a secluded island-beach and had lunch at a local restaurant with the most breathtaking views of the nearby islands. Our brilliant guide ‘Biggie’ (who is also a Thai boxing trainer at the gym) really made an effort to make it a trip to remember.
What I really loved about Aleenta were the little extra touches. The turn down service each night came with a little glass jar of treats and a quaint postcard-sized bedtime story based on Thai folklore complete with watercolor illustrations done by students and local artists! The staff is friendly and attentive and really made me feel welcome and part of the Aleenta family. All in all, the Aleenta Phuket Resort and Spa is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation and provides very good value for money. I will most definitely be back to this little piece of...
Read moreTHE BEST ALQ (ASQ) QUARANTINE IN THAILAND!!! Today is my last day of quarantine at the Aleenta Phuket Resort & Spa which offers an Alternative Local Quarantine (ALQ)with medical support from Thonburi Hospital. Prior to booking my trip to Thailand, I spent countless hours researching all the different options that were available for ALQ/ASQ in Thailand. After extensive research, I discovered the ALQ program at the Aleenta Phuket Resort & Spa and was blown away by the amazing facilities that it offered at a reasonable cost, thereby making my decision to quarantine there the obvious choice. The Aleenta ALQ package includes transfer from the Phuket airport to the resort, which went smoothly without any delay or disruption. The car ride from the airport was quick and upon arrival at the resort, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the staff and escorted to my room. The staff appeared very professional and at all times took all the necessary precautions (i.e., wearing full body PPE protective gear and maintaining proper distancing). The Aleenta assigns a personal Covid Manager, who is responsible for your physical and mental well-being throughout the ALQ stay. Upon arrival, I was set up with a WhatsApp chat with my manager, Khun Kachanuch, who did an amazing job responding to any questions, reminding me of all my appointments and helping me with any and all matters.
THE ROOM: The Aleenta Resort uses its Grand Deluxe Pool Villas for the ALQ program. These villas were designed to embrace an 'Outdoor Living-In' concept, which is an absolutely ideal layout for anyone having to stay in one location for a 15-day period. The bedroom is wonderfully spacious, modern and well appointed. In the center of the room is a HUGE king size bed, which is incredibly comfortable with the softest Egyptian cotton bedding and a choice of pillows. I slept so well in the bed that I never felt any effect from jet lag and had no sleepless nights. The bed overlooks large wall to wall sliding glass doors that open up to the highlight of the villa, an enormous private pool. The pool is so large that calling it a ‘plunge pool’ does it an injustice. The pool is in fact so big that I was able to swim laps each day as a form of exercise. It also has a button which turns on water jets, making the pool a relaxing Jacuzzi.
THE FOOD: The ALQ package includes three meals a day and they were all spectacular. The breakfast menu has endless options, with Asian, International and health conscious choices. The drink menu includes many different signature juice blends, large variety of teas and coffees and of course fresh young coconuts (I had one every day). The lunch and dinner menu has a wide variety of fusion Thai and International choices (with many healthy selections that I did not have a chance to try). Each day I had a difficult time deciding what to order because, frankly, I loved them all.
THE STAFF AND SERVICE: What really makes your ALQ stay at the Aleenta resort so special is the incredible staff, who would literally do anything to make your stay enjoyable. I am extremely impressed with the attentiveness, professionalism and dedication of the entire staff. The excellence and quality of service was top notch throughout my stay. I want to express my appreciation to the entire staff that was able to make even a quarantine stay a pleasant one. It is because of their dedicated work and care that I can fully recommend to anyone that the ALQ program at the Aleenta resort is hands down the best quarantine facility...
Read moreWe spent 8 days at the Aleenta Phuket. We loved it, and would return, but we have a few words of advice to share with potential guests:
The location: The Aleenta Phuket is not on Phuket Island. It's about 8 miles north of the island and about an hour from Phuket town. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere, away from the bustle of Phuket town, you will love it. Just be aware that it is a long cab ride into Phuket town. The resort sits on Natai beach, which is gorgeous and unpopulated.
All Inclusive Packages: We booked the "all inclusive" package which included all of our meals, drinks, mini-bar usage, and 2 hours a day of spa treatments.
The Accommodations: We stayed in a 2-bedroom, ocean view villa, with its own private infinity pool. The villa was awesome and we loved it. The water pressure was very low in one of the bathrooms, which didn't give us the ability to fill the spa tub completely, but other than that, it was amazing.
The Edge Restaurant: This is the only restaurant in the resort. It has a big menu and we did not tire of the food or the selections. The food is great and the service is good. We especially enjoyed our breakfast server (Mam) and our lunch and dinner server (Winn). We had an issue one evening with a selection of beef that we ordered not being included in the all-inclusive package. The menu that we received did not indicate that it wasn't included, but we were asked to sign a ticket to charge it to our room at the end of the meal. We wouldn't sign it, and the restaurant manager did not charge us. The restaurant ran out of wine on 2 consecutive evenings, which was very disappointing. Five star resorts shouldn't run out of anything!
Alcohol: The drinks included in the all-inclusive package were very good, but a little light on the alcohol. We ordered "doubles" most of the time, and this worked out well. The resort really needs a separate bar. To get drinks, you had to order them from the restaurant, which could take awhile. It would have been nice to have a pub/bar to sit in and drink. There appeared to be a bar space onsite, but it wasn't open.
The In-Room Mini Bar: Our package was supposed to include full usage of the in-room mini bar, but upon arrival, we learned that only the items in the refrigerator were included in the all-inclusive package. The items on the countertop (alcohol, snacks, etc.) were not included.
Spa Treatments: We got off to somewhat of a rocky start with the 2 hours per day of all-inclusive spa treatments. Upon our arrival, we attempted to book treatments for the following day, but learned that the spa was already booked up for that day. After that, we made our reservations for the remainder of the week. The spa treatments were wonderful, and Alesa, the spa manager was very accommodating. Consider making your spa appointments prior to arrival.
We also want to give a special shout-out to the resort manager, Noo. He took care (successfully) of all of our issues and we greatly appreciated his customer-oriented attitude.
All-in-all, it was a superb stay, and we hope to...
