Luxury at its best!

Recently we had the pleasure of staying at Le Meridian Khao Lak, and it was an absolutely great experience which I won’t forget. From the moment we arrived in Thailand, we received exceptional service. We had booked airport transfer because our flight landed late after midnight. We were greeted by a smiling face and conversation with him set the tone for a remarkable holiday. The car which picked us was clean and comfy. Cold towels and chilled water kept in the car were like God sent for us to battle the tiring long journey.

Reception: Check-in process was pretty smooth and the reception staff was friendly. Delicious welcome drink and cold towel made the check-in process comfortable. Our room was also upgraded as part of Platinum elite benefits. For any further assistance during our 7 night stay, each and every reception staff made sure we were taken care of. Kate and Nudong were spectacular. They even arranged cute surprise for us. Dinesh at the reception also made sure we were comfortable at all the times and checked us out quickly at the end of our vacation.

The Resort: As the resort is nestled in a picturesque location, it feels like a haven of tranquility and luxury. Our studio room was stunning yet elegant. The room was equipped with all the amenities one could wish for. The lawn and pools were beautifully maintained, and breathtaking views of the serene beach made relaxation effortless.

The Staff: All the staff members of this resort are outstanding. Right from the bell boy, front desk to management people are very friendly and genuinely committed to offer exceptional service. We are pure vegetarians and were worried about the food due to our dietary restrictions. However, one email to the resort and their Executive chef- 'Mr. Anil Rawat' replied that we need not worry and will be taken care (this was before booking the resort). The prompt reassuring reply from the chef himself made us book this resort in the first place). There were further multiple conversations with front desk staff over email and every email was responded to within few hours which is hallmark of exceptional service. Again this was even before arriving at resort. Another amazing human we met their was 'Sous Chef Mr Rana'. He was genuine and went above and beyond his way to serve us delicious food. He is more of a walk than talk person and we loved that about him. The veg Biryani he made was truly on another level. It's taste still lingers on our tongue. Each meal here was a delightful journey for the senses, with beautifully presented dishes.

Chef Alam, chef Joe and Aman made sure we were always served food as per our choice. In short, the kitchen staff was amazing. Special mention- 'Mohit' he was friendly, kind, attentive and understood our taste, likes and dislikes and offered exceptional dining experience. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. People like Saykat, Nuch, Ae, Ning were always in their best behavior, friendly and attentive to our needs. You cannot complain about even a single staff member here. They are just perfect in what they do. Do not forget to try pizza when you are here, it delicious. They also have ice cream parlour, Amazing cakes and choices in mocktails.

House keeping- The room was cleaned attest once daily and the housekeeping staff did thorough cleaning, changed bedsheets and pillow covers everyday. Towels were crisp and clean every single day.

Spa: Aor, the receptionist catered to our spa needs with a beautiful smile. Our couple spa was the hightlight. Anna and Meow who catered us during the spa were amazing.

Room tips: Book their Studio apartment on 3rd floor which has the best sea view. Else 3rd floor Larger guest room will also have nice partial sea view.

Overall, we enjoyed an exceptional blend of luxury, service, and culinary excellence. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a top-notch getaway. I’m already looking forward to...

This was our first visit to Thailand and therefore also to Le Méridien Khao Lak Resort so cannot benchmark against other hotels in Thailand but on our general experience of all-inclusive in the Caribbean.

Let’s start with check in – Welcomed with refreshing towel and drink we was in our room in no time at all.

The Room – as you will see in images on this, and other sites was very clean, spacious, and exactly what we had booked with pool / limited sea view. Cleaned everyday with fresh towelling when needed we had no complaints.

The Grounds – well laid out and looked after – you would often see staff sweeping, pruning and general upkeep.

The Pools – you have 3 at this hotel with only one making use of a pool bar. We used only 2 but found them very clean and warm to swim in. Sun loungers are plentiful with no real need to get down early to grab your space. My first negative is a lack of atmosphere at the pools with no background music apart from a small speaker at the pool bar which can only be heard there.

The Restaurants – 3 in total, The Nest (buffet), Beach Grill & Pizzeria you also have access to Le Scoop which offers gelato / sorbet / coffees etc. Overall, the food was very good with the buffet offering a huge choice at breakfast and all others menu options at set times each day.

Th Bars – 3 in total with the lobby, swim up and the beach bar (Coconut Jo’s). A huge selection of local and international drinks *please note not all drinks are available on the all-inclusive package but they do provide a separate menu to detail the options.

The Beach – amazing sunsets most evenings which you would find a lot of guests would head to watch. In front of the beach there is a step of about several feet which is there to protect the beach from erosion as the area in tidal.

The Negatives – Lack of atmosphere around the pools & beach can easily be fixed with some light background music. No entertainment at the hotel apart from singers in the restaurants some evenings. And the main point for us was the number of events the hotel hold mainly weddings that can impact for a couple of days depending on the event. In the 2 weeks we stayed we had 2 Indian weddings which both could last for 3 days taking over different parts of the hotel. We did gain advance notice from the hotel a day or 2 ahead so could plan to head out for the day or eat in a different restaurant. A few guests have mentioned the same during our stay and feel the hotel needs to think about how to better separate both so not to impact on normal paying guests some on an all-inclusive basis who are not actually getting this every day.

The Positives – what makes any good hotel is its people and the Thai people and culture goes a long way to make this a great place to stay. So many to thank but will name a few. Patrick on reception such a bundle of joy each day and helped me when I had a small enquiry he went above and beyond. Alicia (I hope I have the name right) at the Nest was a warm friendly greeting to start each day. Wan at the pool bar kept the drinks flowing with a great sense of humour. Ning our cleaning lady wow what can I say, such a humble, hardworking friendly person who would make our towel sculptures something to look forward to each day on our return to the room. Adrian the manager of the beach restaurant would come and chat most days always asking is everything is good and listen to feedback but with a great sense of humour. And finally, Tom and Ex at Coconuts Jo’s Beach Bar work so hard and at times alone due to staff being pulled to other areas when the events are on. Tom is such a legend running the bar alone at times but meeting all customer needs with a smile on his face – he like all mentioned are the reason we loved our stay here.

In conclusion would I recommend this hotel – YES. The hotel is clean, spacious only 15 minutes from the centre of Khao Lak. I would say perfect for a quiet vacation. Would I go...

Although booked last minute, this trip to Thailand, staying at Le Méridien Khao Lak Resort and Spa for 12 nights was one of the best holidays we have had as a family to date. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm welcomes and efficient service, as well as the most incredible views that truly made it feel like we were in paradise!

Our rooms were second to none, with powerful air conditioning, a great balcony with fantastic views, an extremely comfortable bed, and plenty of space for all our things. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly daily and added to the comfort factor. The shower was by far the best part of the room, and we each thoroughly enjoyed our rain showers each day.

The hotel in general was also fantastic. The facilities - including the multiple pools, games area, restaurants, bathrooms, gym, beach, and bars were also spotless, with incredibly friendly service from all the staff. The areas always had a relaxing atmosphere and we were able to enjoy the sheer variety of spaces. The pools were always clean and not overly crowded. Warm towels were provided and staff were always on hand to help with umbrellas. The nearby Le Scoop Cafe and Pool Bar allowed us to enjoy drinks and snacks whenever we wanted without have to trek far. The beach was somewhat clean, but we were still able to enjoy beautiful sunsets by Coconut Jo's with our drinks and snacks. Once again, the beach was not crowded. The water was too rough to swim in but the breeze provided and calming noises sufficed!

Being vegetarian, we were concerned about the food options when going away, but it's safe to say these worries went as soon as we spoke to staff and saw the menus. There were plenty of options for us in each of the three restaurants and if we wanted something, the waiting staff and chefs were more than happy to make certain dished for us. The breakfast buffet in the mornings was always plentiful, with fruit being extremely sweet and fresh. The variety of cuisines and dishes was always astonishing too! The lunch and dinner food was second to none, and with our all inclusive package we felt truly spoilt. Each dish that we tried, from Thai cuisine, to Indian, Italian, Mediterranean, and Western were all hot when they arrived and extremely tasty.

The service from the hotel was impeccable and they truly wished us a relaxing and enjoyable time at the resort. It was my parents wedding anniversary and the staff in the Nest pulled out all the stops to ensure they had a wonderful dinner, providing them with complimentary flowers, pictures and a cake. For injuries, the first-aid system and team were also fantastic!

The facilities in the spa were also great. We enjoyed various and multiple treatments which left our bodies feeling great! The products and techniques used were clearly of a high standard, and overall our experiences were fantastic.

The tour desk was helpful in allowing us to decide on the outings we wanted to do - we went to the local elephant sanctuary, night market, and on the three temple tour in Phang-Nga which were all fantastic and well worth the prices. Special mention to our advisor Nok who ensured we enjoyed our trips and truly took our various needs into consideration when advising us on which tours to do!

This stay would not have been the same without the humble, kind, respectful and dedicated body of staff at the hotel who never said no or found any task too difficult which simply made our holiday one of the best we have experienced. Special mentions go to Manish, Nush, Bew, Pailin, Chefs Alam and Anil, Da, Kwan, Boy, Wisa, Sayat and in particular Norn, Dan, Ae, and Mohit who were the most wonderful people and provided us with utmost service over out 12 days.

We are missing the place already and will definitely be recommending this hotel and coming back to stay...

Our family of four (my wife, our two children aged four and nine, and myself) recently stayed at Le Meridien Khao Lak for a seven-night holiday. We’ve been to Khao Lak around ten times, but this was our first stay at this hotel. We initially booked a family room with two separate bedrooms for the kids but decided to upgrade to a Pool Villa upon arrival. With four nights already behind us, we feel ready to share our thoughts. Arrival and Check-In: We arranged our transportation from Phuket Airport independently via shuttle, taking about 90 minutes. Upon arrival, the check-in was smooth due to the lack of crowds. Although there’s a separate check-in for Elite members, we chose the standard option. The friendly staff welcomed us with cold towels and a welcome drink, and provided helpful information about the hotel layout and weekly programs for both adults and children. Hotel Facilities: The hotel is a large property right on the beach, featuring three main pools: a quiet pool for relaxation, an activity pool with a bar, and a family pool. This variety allows guests to choose their preferred atmosphere. Dining Options: Breakfast is served at a central location, which can get busy. We recommend arriving early, as it gets crowded after 9:00 am. There are Western and Asian breakfast options, with several cooking stations. The breakfast area transitions into a lunch and dinner restaurant, along with a beachside restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Our kids enjoyed the pizza and pasta options at the pizzeria, and overall, the food quality has been very good. Activities: Le Meridien Khao Lak offers a range of activities for children and adults. The Kids Club provides entertainment for the younger guests, while adults can use the gym. The hotel also runs a shuttle service to Khao Lak town several times a week. In the evenings, family-friendly activities, such as a fire show, are organized. Staff and Service: Service is a standout feature of this hotel. The staff is exceptionally friendly and service-oriented, always eager to assist with any requests. After checking in, we noticed our family room was quite far from the beach. Although the room was great, we wanted a closer location. The staff informed us of the family room’s designated area but helped us upgrade to a Pool Villa, which we greatly appreciated. A special mention goes to the lady managing the pizzeria. Regardless of the time we visited, she was always friendly and attentive to both us and our children, making our dining experience enjoyable. Room: Our initial family room was spacious and well-maintained, either freshly renovated or very well-kept. However, the upgrade to the Pool Villa was an excellent choice. We’ve attached photos of the Pool Villa, and we are very pleased with its location and spaciousness. Location: Le Meridien Khao Lak is about a 25-minute drive from Khao Lak town. Guests can utilize the hotel’s shuttle service, which runs three times a week, or easily book a taxi. While we noticed several restaurants nearby, we didn’t try them due to our all-inclusive package, so we can’t comment on their quality. Guests: The guest demographic is diverse, and we haven’t noticed a specific nationality dominating. This hotel caters more to families with children or adults looking for relaxation rather than a party atmosphere. Conclusion: We have had a fantastic stay so far, and we’re confident that our last three nights will be just as enjoyable. We are already planning to return and look forward to our next visit.

Stay Duration: March 17-20, 2025 Purpose of Stay: Hosting an academic conference at Le Méridien Khao Lak Event Management Service: Extremely Poor Before the Conference • Initially, our communication with the hotel’s sales team was smooth. We received adequate information, made deposits on time, and the hotel kept in touch regularly. • However, after the New Year—coinciding with our conference registration period—the hotel team became unresponsive. We requested assistance in creating a booking form or a reservation link for attendees, but received no support. Then, on the event day, the hotel suddenly required us to use their designated forms, which we could not comply with. • Shortly before the event, the Event Manager was replaced, which turned out to be a disaster. The new manager had poor communication skills, lacked memory and understanding, and required constant reminders about the same topics. • An example of our frustrating interactions: when we asked where we should set up the backdrop, instead of offering guidance, she replied, “Wherever the client wants.” This unhelpful and indifferent attitude persisted throughout our discussions for 2-3 months before the event, causing significant stress. During the Conference • The Event Manager continued to demonstrate unprofessional behavior, offering no assistance and instead imposing rigid and unnecessary demands on us—the paying client who spent hundreds of thousands of baht on this event. • Examples include: • Lunch breaks had to strictly start at 12:00 PM, with no flexibility. • We were forced to use the hotel’s specific reservation forms, with no room for discussion. • She repeatedly forgot our pre-approved event schedule, which resulted in no refreshments being provided during break times. When contacted, she simply responded, “I forgot.” Is this the level of service expected from a 4-5 star hotel? • Audiovisual equipment was subpar—the screen displayed faded visuals, making it difficult for attendees to clearly see the presentations. • The technical support team was extremely slow in resolving a critical connection issue between the conference room screen and our laptop, causing delays in our presentations. Overall, it was clear that the hotel did not prioritize Thai customers. Despite paying full price for a professional event, we were treated with disregard. ⸻ Food • Several dishes were overly salty. • The worst issue: a strand of hair was found in the rice. When reported, the Event Manager did not replace the rice pot, but instead simply added more rice on top—a completely unacceptable response. ⸻ Check-in & Check-out • There was no proper hotel introduction for guests, leaving many confused about where to go. • Compared to my previous stay 1-2 years ago, where the staff provided excellent service, this time felt like a downgrade to a 3-star hotel—perhaps even worse than some smaller hotels in Bangsak. ⸻ Rooms • The only aspect that maintained Le Méridien’s standard was the cleanliness and housekeeping service. • Housekeeping staff were attentive and consistent in keeping the rooms tidy. Kudos to the housekeeping team! ⸻ Final Verdict This conference was an exhausting experience due to: • An incompetent Event Manager with poor coordination and an unprofessional attitude. • Outdated audiovisual equipment that requires urgent improvement. • Unenthusiastic staff in charge of the conference rooms, showing little willingness to assist. Rating: 5/10

This is my first time stay in this hotel. I arrived for check-in Friday afternoon and was greeting by no one, no welcome drink, no cold towel. Standing at the front desk and watching 2 staffs looking very busy working on their tables with some guests sitting with them. Seem like checking-in or checking-out, I have no idea. So, after awhile, notice a room that have elite member signs so I walked there, the room have air-condition - what a relief. After sometime, a staff came and help with checking-in - take about 5 to 10 minutes and I got my keycards. A nice gentlemen help with our baggage's and lead us to the room. Checking-in is ok. Upon entering, the room is quite spacious and look clean. There is welcome snack with welcome letter from K.Chayanis the hotel manager. In the mirror there are also a handwritten with some kind of color chalk said "Dear K.Kevin, welcome to...." - This is quite nice, except that my name is not Kevin. This must be for the previous guest and the housekeeping did not clean and change it. My name in the welcome letter is correct though. Hotel location is quite far from Phuket and everything, you probably need a car to stay here. The beach is full of rocks and pieces of broken coral, not very good for swimming. Staffs are quite welcoming and always greeting with a smiles. Room is functional well, air condition is a bit loud but still ok. Internet is ok. Breakfast is good, have variety of food both local and international. Hotel seem to be ok, until the barbeque buffet dinner. The hotel setup tables for guest on the lawn in front of the restaurant near the beach. They assigned seats for guests. The sky start to getting dark after the buffet start for 10 - 20 minutes with dark cloud all over and they seem to be slow to take any actions such as moving the table, changing the location. So, guest sitting there for sometime until its rain with thunderstorm and wind. People have to run indoor and there are no place to sit. The restaurant staff does not know what to do and leave guest standing there. Getting quite upset, I have an argument with restaurant manager name Gina and ask what they gonna do, and getting the answer that they are moving the food inside the building and setting up tables. So, we need to standing there watching other people eat until they finish setup our new seats - which will take sometime. She said that if we don't want to wait and want to continue eating something now, we can go to other restaurant in the hotel and order food at our own expenses to eat while waiting and then come back later to continue eating here. This does not sound very nice. So, I ask her that she should offer some compensation. At lease she should offer 50% if not totally void it all since we did not even start the main dish yet. After that, I just walked out. With this kind of treatments, I dare not risk to spend my holiday at this hotel again. I will not come back to this hotel and would not recommended this hotel for anyone.
