Overall: 4/5 I stayed in the H2O suite and was it amazing. Amazing views, private pool, and not that much higher in price compared to their sea-view rooms. The biggest problem was getting around the island from here was super expensive and something I should have done more research into prior to booking this place. Even then, glad I stayed here and when I want to get away from the busy world, I would definitely stay here again.
Room: 5/5 What can I say, other than one of the most amazing room ever (H2O Suite). The suite itself is 2 floors, and the second floor is your own private swimming pool, and when I was looking at the booking prices, its just a few more dollars more expensive than the sea-view regular rooms. The room came fully stocked with with kitchen, but nearly everything is for purchase. The staff came in the room way too often, IMO. Maybe let your guests decide if they need their bed done and blinds closed? lol. Others will love being pampered as much, so I’ll leave that as a plus. [+] Large amount of space [+] Fully stocked kitchen with all utensils you might needs [+] Private swimming pool and it was a decent size pool as well [+] Good decor [+] Amazing views [-] Nothing in the room was complimentary, other than coffee and tea. All food/drinks was for purchase. Typically for the price and being the top end room, the mini bar is complimentary in most places. [-] Even though the view was amazing, the room itself was pretty far from the sea. Being the top end room, one would expect to be right next to the waters. I don’t think this was mentioned on their website, or maybe I missed it. I might have mistaken their family room pictures as well (which is right by the water). If you look at my drone shots, you can see the H2O suite is actually in the furthest building.
Facilities: 5/5 I didn’t get time to use the gym, but there is one. Can’t comment on what equipment was inside but I did see some treadmills. The bar itself is on the opposite end of the restaurant, and they share the same menu. The food is was pretty good, and the cocktails were amazing! The main pool was pretty big and separated the bar from the restaurant. The breakfast selection was also very good. A little bit of local food and a lot of western food. [+] Great food and drinks [+] Gym [+] Large pool [+] Live music on some of the nights. Pleasure sitting there and just letting go of that stress. [-] Limited vegetarian/vegan options. [-] Everything is kinda far away from the room, and some people might have trouble going up and down the slopes. Luckily they do offer a golf cart to take you around.
Location: 3/5 This was my biggest problem with staying here. Now granted, this is not the fault of the hotel, but I didn’t think it was this much of an isolated area. Getting anywhere from the hotel was expensive. For example, getting to the city was minimum 600baht or the airport being over a 1000baht. Even though the distance and time it takes are not much compared to other areas where it was still much cheaper. For people looking to get away from it all, this is probably perfect for you. For me, however, it wasn’t. The hotel itself does not have a good beach where one can go swimming (at least in May) and the sea-water itself isn’t as clean. During low-tide, it doesn’t look that good either. [+] If you’re looking to get away from everything, this is the place for you. [+] Close to things like a 7/11 and a few other places outside the hotel. [-] Not a beach you can swim in, so more of a sea view rather than beachside. [-] Expensive to get around the island from here
Price: 4/5 This comes down to what you think is worth it. For me, the views and the suite itself...
Read moreSo, I will start with the positives. The hotel is beautiful, the communal pool is right on the seafront, the hotel is well presented, and the villa we stayed in was awesome! I was so excited when we first checked in…BUT!! We booked the villa/suite for our last week of our 3 week holiday. The first 2 weeks were eventful so we needed a rest in the last week. EVERY SINGLE morning between 6-8 we were woken up by chairs dragging and heavy footsteps! I was convinced it was a housemaid making such a racket cleaning a room as it continued for a good hour or so every morning. Not to mention hearing people bang doors shut!
The first morning I let it go, the second morning I spoke to reception and they told me it was a guest and ‘he had now checked out.’ NOPE, this happened EVERY MORNING and continued to happen for the rest of our stay! No rest for us! The plan was to rest the last week before going back to work.
We are going home absolutely shattered!
This also impacted the last week of our holiday as we found ourselves in bed well into the afternoon because of being woken up so early!
If you are looking to have a rest and a lie in, DO NOT book this hotel! I DO NOT recommend it and would not stay here again. Which is a shame, because the hotel itself is beautiful and in a lovely location.
We have stayed in A LOT of hotels, just on this trip alone we have stayed in 14 hotels. We have NEVER had an experience like this whereby you’re being woken up every single morning. No other hotels in our 3 weeks stay have had a bad review, we are fairly easy to please, and asking for a lie in, and not to be woken up every morning isn’t a huge or a special ask. That’s the minimum you should get from a hotel stay.
When I checked out, I told the front desk and she said she knows this is an issue!
This hotel definitely does not live up to its name of ‘Serenity’. It actually upset and angered me that I was being woken up everyday on my holiday! We have had better sleep in much...
Read moreReply I reached out for some refunds from this owner but she does not even respond to Booking.com. So I did not receive any refunds. If the property is different even if the whole condominium is in the same area, please reach out her to answer to bookings.com to refund me partially. When this is done, I will be happy to delete. **
You pay 200 euro per night (w/o breakfast) and you get this level of room, totally different room than the pictures listed on google map + booking.com, plus, you can’t sleep at night due to loud motor bikes from Main Street. (Windows were not open so you can hear how loud the noises come from outside and echo in the room)
I came to Phuket for weekend away from Kuala Lumpur but this hotel ruined my weekend away from a big city, because it was way noisier than city bustles in Kuala Lumpur… I was surprised and extremely disappointed by the interior and the loud noises which kept me awake.
My room was different from pictures I saw from Google map and booking.com. I became wanting to end my trip to Phuket as soon as possible due to this unlucky experience to got this room due to dishonest pictures. Booking hotel’s name is: Serenity Rawai by Destada.
Please don’t get confused with Selina hotel, this is the tactic, these places use the same pictures from Selina because it’s parent company or something. Hotels are different. This place’s room is as I attached sadly, as you can see. These advertisement should really be true and honest.
I took the motor cycle crazy noises and uploaded only 2 videos but I had this annoyingly loud noises in my room once every 5 min through the night.
The last screenshot is for your reference to see the total difference in the appearance of room.
For future guests, I make a real reviews so that you don’t have to pay almost 200 euro per night for this. We don’t deserve this. This is a cost performance in...
