MY FRIENDS PASSPORT WAS STOLEN HERE, and I'm EXTREMLY dissatisfied with the service we received from the employees. We started our day, purchased drinks, and even had plans to return to the shop the next day. However one of my friends forgot her purse. After 20 minutes, we realized the bag missing. We returned to the store, we found the bag, but the passport and money were gone. When we asked the employees about any customers possibly being near the bag, they immediately denied it, telling us we look elsewhere. To be sure we even went back to our airbnb and looked with to no avail.
The employees were extremely disrespectful, laughing and recording us throughout the process. Despite explaining the critical need for the passport in order to leave the country, they downplayed the severity of the situation. As we waited, the employees insisted that we had left the items elsewhere and went so far as to call the cops on us.
The owner arrived almost two hours later, allowing us to review inconsistent footage. Despite the presence of at least four cameras, whern we requested to view another camera angle, he dismissively claimed it wouldn't show what we were looking for. We contacted the US embassy, and were directed to local authorities. The police, who only spoke Thai, initially did not acknowledge us, only spoke to the staff. Despite the owner's willingness to share footage, as foreigners, we felt unsafe and were not taken seriously. The staff's inappropriate behavior, standing, laughing, and recording during this ordeal, makes it impossible for me to recommend this place to anyone.
Response to owner:
Your store's response to our experience, where a passport was stolen, was dismissive, degrading, and disrespectful. Thank you for responding and giving proof that you’re belittling our situation with clear racist undertones. Your attempting to downplay obvious THEFT and your failure to treat us with the respect and urgency warranted in such a situation is deeply concerning. & again, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SHOP. Instead of addressing your staff's inappropriate behavior – my friend was crying and they were taking photos of us and laughing during our crisis – your comments focused on stereotyping “certain demographics” of Americans. Your comments SHOW YOUR CLEAR DISCRIMINATION OF AFRICAN AMERICANS. We were not confrontational, yet you labeled us troublemakers for sharing how you and your staff treat people in your store. I will be escalating this matter with the US Embassy. It is crucial for potential customers to be aware of your inadequate response to such a...
Read moreWHAT A SHAME! This place was highly recommended and had been on my hit list for months, unfortunately it was one of the worst coffees and experiences in general. Upon entry, it was as though I was inconveniencing the staff who were on their phones. This is Thailand and often that is the case when staff feel they’ve nothing to do, so usually that wouldn’t bother me but when I asked about piccolo lattes I was practically told “no” and shoved out the door, but as I said, this place had been on my list for months and I like to think I’m quite reasonable, so when an establishment doesn’t have “my” preferred coffee on the menu, I settle for a double shot latte, half full, which usually does the trick. Therefore, that is precisely what I did on this occasion. First sip and I genuinely squirmed because it was that bitter! Now, because of the ratings, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking the coffee must’ve just been prepared incorrectly on this occasion, I sheepishly but politely interrupted the staff on their phones again to let them know and the one who made it, essentially took the mug out of my hands, threw the coffee into the sink whilst saying “cancel”… again, I was trying to be polite and asked which coffee beans she used and if she would like to try again because I’ve heard great things, but as I was speaking and trying to defuse and rectify the situation, she rolled her eyes and kept turning to her colleague, speaking to her in Thai. I felt that was enough of a “go away” sign as one could give, so I just said, ok, I feel like you don’t want to make coffee, so I will leave. And leave, I did. Again, such a shame! And as a rawai local expat and true coffee lover, it’s genuinely disappointing to have such a terrible,...
Read moreThe food is a bit overpriced and wannabe-fancy. But i have no problems with that. Why i m writing this rare feedback? Because the attitude and kindness of waiters/owner is not very welcoming. They don‘t even say „hello“ or look into your eyes, although it doesn t seem a „language problem“ and i wouldn’t consider myself as a „complicate“ guest, who is complaining about things usually.
i ve been there several times last week because of a lack of option but never will go again. The energy is just annoying. The local imbiss/restaurant on the opposite is not so fancy, but waaaaay better energy,...
