I do not sugar coat a shitty hotel and I definitely give flowers to whom flowers are meant for.

Flowers here would be for Avani Riverside and the staff here, especially the ones who worked on the 23rd of December 2024- you guys are a lifesaver.

My friend and I were booked in for 2 nights, 21st - 23rd December 2024 given that these were our last days in Thailand. On the 22nd of December, we set out for skydiving at Pattaya as early as 7am and due to how early morning and the sort of activity we had planned for the day, we had not eaten anything. It was a long drive indeed and a long day of being on an empty stomach.

By the time we returned back to Bangkok, we were so exhausted that we quickly settled for Burger from Burger King at MBK centre- which happened to be our worse nightmare.

We both had food poisoning/infection from this meal- my friend whose flight was very early ie 1:30am experienced hers on her flight while mine was in the hotel.

Right from the time I woke up at 7:30 am on the 23rd of December, I was vomiting and stooling at the same time. All alone and extremely miserable as I was weak and out of breathe, I sort for medication with the assistance of the cab guy I used while ima Bangkok- this the hotel brought for me but it did not help unfortunately.

My vomiting and stooling continued for hours that by the time I was meant to check out, I couldn't get myself to get ready or even pack my stuffs. I called the hotel for more time and they agreed.

Given that I had overstayed and wasn't getting any better, I requested to have someone assist with my luggages. As soon as the room service person saw me, I complained I was sick, and he sent for a wheel chair which he assisted in getting me into and wheeled me to the lobby.

The team at Avani Riverside assisted in getting their in-house first aid team to check my temperature and BP; to calling for the doctor and ambulance; to holding my hands as I had gone into shock of shaky hands and feet, feeling pins and needles at my hands and feet, difficulty in breathing, dizziness and overall feeling numb in my body especially my hands and feet. I also had my luggages sent to the hospital I was admitted to, after I was rushed with the ambulance to the hospital.

I cannot over emphasise how grateful I am to the team who were with me that day. I do not have names to name unfortunately but God bless you all. The ones who wheeled me right from the room to the lobby and to the concierge- thank you. The ones who held my hands; spoke to my husband and sent the hospital information over to him- thank you.

I alone know how badly shaped I was and alone but the assistance rendered and received is more than enough. I have never been sick on a holiday neither have I experienced such.

As for the Burger King at MBK centre, people need to err with caution when getting food from them as that is absolute poison- based...

We booked this hotel to get a whistle stop view of Bangkok before moving on to Phuket. We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely return. We arrived in the afternoon so only one room was ready but that was not to inconvenient as there was lots of places to eat and explore downstairs. Unfortunately our first day took a turn for the worse and my Son had a unexpected seizure to which he has never suffered . We were in a foreign country with no Wifi and we did not know what to do that is when I can not commend the staff listed enough they were so helpful and there were probably more but we could not get all their names. The concierge team are the best we went to two other hotels after this one and they did not have a touch on these guys. The hotel its self was clean the rooms lovely we had views of the river. The pool was as advertised with a lovely view. A must is the SEEN restaurant fantastic food and the views at night were amazing. Cross the river on the shuttle to the mall it is shopping and food what more do you want . You can also go over to the other hotel. Unfortunately due to my sons hospital visit we did not get to do much in Bangkok outside of the hotel but we did go to an Indi market this market was more for the locals so we felt a bit out of place. Be careful of being ripped of by the taxis a lot of them do not use meters and they can charge what they like so be sure to use a metered taxi. The fruit stand at the entrance does the best Mango .
