Bangkok Bold Kitchen at Riverside Plaza — Restaurant in Samre Subdistrict

I think this is one of Bangkok's under rated Thai restaurants maybe becoz of it's location at Thongburi. I had an out-of-town guest so wanted a restaurant that's 'foreign friendly' but not dumbed down to suit the foreign palate. It has a good variety of Thai food if u don't want the usual tomyam, grilled protein, somtam Thai etc.

Food was delicious and well executed. We had a pomelo salad, masaman beef curry, stir fried prawns in fish sauce, Thai mackerel stir fried with chillies, acacia leaves & pork crackling, crispy rice crackers with crab paste dip and a grilled pork & eggplant (I think, can't remember 😅).

It's located behind the Antara hotel in a small shopping mall. We took a taxi to the restaurant but caught the shuttle boat for a leisurely ride back to Saphan Taksin from the hotel.

A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

📌🍽 A Thai-fusion eatery that also as a culinary school. The shop has many of tables and is spacious. Many creative menus are worth tasting but they are pricy because small dishes. 🍽🐷🐟🌶 Mackerel and chilies stirfried with acacia and pork cracklings : good taste but a bit too sweet. 🦐🔥🍄‍🟫 Tom Yum with Shrimp : Lots of mushrooms. Clear soup and has the right spiciness. 🐔🥢 Chicken Pad Thai with a well-balanced flavor 🐖🍽 Grilled pork neck : A little too greasy but tender. อาหารรสชาติดี แต่วันนี้ผิดหวังค่ะ สั่งมัสมั่นไก่ ด้วยความที่ไก่มันเป็นชิ้นใหญ่แค่ชิ้นเดียว ทานๆไปเรื่อยๆสักพักพอกัดไปถึงเนื้อเกือบๆข้างในใกล้กระดูก รู้สึกว่าเนื้อไก่เย็นเหมือนกัดน้ำแข็งอ่ะค่ะ นี่คือคายออกมาแทบไม่ทัน จะอ้วก ทุเรศมาก เหมือนจะ defrost ไก่มาไม่เสร็จอ่าค่ะ นี่เลยแจ้งพนักงาน พนักงานคนแรกเดินกลับมาแจ้งว่า "แจ้งในครัวให้แล้วนะคะ พ่อครัวรับทราบแล้วค่ะ" นี่เลยแบบ เอิ่มมมม แล้วไงอ่ะ? รับทราบแล้วยังไงหรอคะ?? จะรับผิดชอบอะไรมั้ย??? คำว่า customer service อ่ะ เข้าใจป่าว??? นี่เลยเรียกพนักงานอีกคนมา ฝั่งดิฉันก็แจ้งเค้าไปว่า อาหารมันเป็นแบบเนี้ย กินต่อไม่ได้แล้วนะ จะรับผิดชอบยังไง? ไม่ควรชาร์จราคานะสำหรับจานนี้อ่ะ ไม่ได้อยากกินฟรีค่ะ มีเงินจ่ายค่ะ แต่มันคือการแสดงความรับผิดชอบ ที่คนทำงานบริการควรเข้าใจ แต่พนักงานเอาจานเข้าไปในครัว บอกว่าเดี๋ยวจะเอาไปเชค 🤣 เชคอะไรก๊อนนนน โอ้ยย ลองกัดดูมั้ยค๊าาา ยังกับกินน้ำแข็งค่ะ! ชั้นคายอาหารออกมาใส่จานขนาดนั้น ถ้ามันกินได้จริงๆ ชั้นไม่ทำหรอกค่ะ เสียเวลา เสียสุขภาพจิต สักพักพนักงานออกมาแจ้งว่าจะไม่รับผิดชอบใดๆ เพราะทานใกล้หมดแล้ว อ่าววว ก็ส่วนที่น้ำแข็งมันไม่ละลายมันคือส่วนข้างในอ่ะ ข้างนอกมันกินได้ปกติ! จะให้ชั้นตรัสรู้ล่วงหน้าก่อนเริ่มกินได้ไงค๊าาาา คิดสิคิด omg the worst service ever! ละยังมีหน้ามาคิด 10% service charge อีกนะ ช่างกล้า service ติดลบซะขนาดนั้น บอกเลยค่ะ ไม่ได้โกหกใดๆ อาหารมันเป็นอย่างงั้นจริงๆ ปล.ถ้าเจ้าของร้านจะตอบแบบเถียงกลับมาว่าชั้นโกหกเพื่ออยากกินฟรีเนี่ยนะ รบกวนตั้งสติค่ะ นี่รีวิวตามความจริง ลูกค้าเค้ารีวิวตามสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นจริงๆค่ะ ไม่มีใครเค้าบ้าอยากกินของฟรีหรอก มันเสียความรุ้สึกกับสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นและการบริการของร้านค่ะ! หัดยอมรับความจริงบ้างนะคะ และรบกวนอบรมพนักงานหน่อยค่ะ แต่ละคนทำงานเหมือนง่วงนอน กว่าจะได้สั่ง กว่าจะได้เรียกขอบิล ต้องเรียกแล้วเรียกอีก โบกไม้โบกมือกว่าจะหันมา...
