Got there early and when I saw the original ad in Booking I assumed I was getting a private bathroom. Upon arrival not the case and as I was understandably early I was too tired to look elsewhere even with a hotel or hostel every 5 meters(I had not slept for over 24 hours). I agreed to pay an extra 100THB on a room that was already only 350THB, with our without a bathroom, just to check in two hours early. Yeah. So what was my private room door. A particle board barn door that locked with a padlock from the exterior. And locked from the inside with a hook and loop. Thanks for security and peace of mind. Not. Also, not to mention the ability to be locked in my room from the outside which would concern me if I could shatter the door itself with little effort(I'm a large trained fighter). So, honestly, security is not my biggest concern. As for the cleanliness. The shared bath spaces had old used toothbrushes and rusted razors that had not been disposed of as they should be. There was a long wavey black hair stuck to the bowl of the sink. There were urinals for men that were open to the outside air but in the second floor no one was going to see me go from the ground. Who could see me was the young lady that walked into the bathroom where her clothes were hanging while I was going and I realized had a full view from the angle as you walk in. No real partition that blocks a person's view of my junk. The toilet seemed to be in a separate area and it might have been a bidet if the lid wasn't broken. Luckily I didn't need to go number deuce the one night I was booked for. The room itself. The homemade platform the mattress say on was large enough that it did create a handy ledge to sit things within reach even if it was cheaply made but Bangkok itself and the hotel required me to sell some way to cover my skin to stop being eaten alive by everything with wings. The room had a terrible overhead lamp and a strange light plugged into a power strip that has an LED bulb with a small switch, yeah. But guess what. The AC was awesome. I had to raise the temperature a few times because I got a little chill. I hate heat and humidity so needed that to work. I think my whole room budget paid for the electricity for that feature. Keep your tropical climate Southeast Asia. I'll live where I don't have sweat in my butt crack when I walk outside. So based on this level of cleanliness, I owned a cleaning company many years ago so I can judge, I was asked to clean up when I wanted to take food to my room. Oh Kay.... Get...
Read moreGreat place to crash for a night, super close to the DMK airport. Our stay here was really quick, we only stayed for 1 night in the 8 beds dormitory but we found the place really handy since we landed at the airport late at night and the hostel is 10min. walking from it. Room: beds and pillows were comfortable and the room looked clean. Some details they could improve: every bed has their own light and charger but no shelves or hangers to leave your belongings. Also there’s no locker to leave the bags. The room has an A/C but for some reason goes on and off often, which could impact your night of sleep. Bathroom: spacious and quite clean with shampoo and body soap. Here there was also a lack of hangers and proper places to leave your stuff while taking shower. Staff: super nice and smiley. They can communicate in english and can help you if you need anything. Amenities: the common area in the ground floor is nice and the wi-fi is good (even in the room) so you can relax here a bit. They also provide a small breakfast in the morning for free, with bread, jam, banana and coffee and they have drinkable water (cold and hot) for refilling, anytime. Location: really near to the DMK airport (like 10min. walking) and so really handy if you are arriving late at night or leaving early in the morning In the end we found that the hostel had a nice and chilled vibe and we would definitely stay here again. We also believe you can find great deals in this area if you...
Read moreI rented the single room for myself. The bed is hard like a stone. The door you close it with a hook from the inside and a padlock from the outside (minimal security). You hear ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING from other rooms, shower and toilet. I heard things I didn’t want to hear. Turn off the AC at night otherwise your window will start to SHAKE. Window can’t be opened. I included the breakfast because I thought it was a good option, that’s not breakfast, that’s an unhealthy snack, I stayed 2 nights 3 days and I never saw the staff cleaning the showers, there’s old used razors everywhere and nobody cleans, the toilet is broken and the showers smell like urine, the sinks are made from wood and they rotting, the...
