Disappointing Hostel level Experience at a Supposed 4-Star Hotel in Phuket
I recently stayed at this purported 4-star hotel in Phuket, and the experience left much to be desired. Upon entering the establishment, the lack of a warm welcome was palpable, with approximately five staff members hiding behind the reception area, oblivious to guests arriving.
The Wi-Fi situation is nothing short of frustrating, as attempts to connect from my room proved futile. It's disheartening to pay for a room in the digital age and be unable to access a basic amenity like reliable internet.
To add insult to injury, the policy of charging an extra fee for a second room key in a double-occupancy room is ludicrous. In what world does a hotel penalize guests for expecting the convenience of a spare key when sharing accommodations?
The bathroom further exemplified the hotel's negligence. The water tap and towel hanger were poorly adjusted, reflecting a lack of attention to basic maintenance. The towels provided were either excessively worn or blatantly damaged, painting a picture of neglect in the cleanliness standards.
Booking a room with a promised garden view only led to disappointment, as the reality was a scenic view of the neighbor's garbage area. It's a blatant misrepresentation of what was advertised during the booking process.
What's even more appalling is the utter refusal by the reception to address any requests or concerns. A supposedly 4-star establishment should prioritize guest satisfaction, yet this hotel seemed more inclined to reject any form of assistance.
In conclusion, this was not an experience befitting a 4-star hotel. It felt more like a hostel with zero regard for service quality. Save your money and sanity by considering alternative...
Read moreThis hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed using the pool. We are very disappointed with everything else. Here are some things to consider before booking: The “superior” room is their standard room and from what I recall is not shown on their website photos. There is only a bed and a desk, with a small bathroom (shower, no tub) and no closet, drawers, or surfaces to put your belongings. One chair for the desk and no other furniture so we had to eat our take out in the lobby.
Location: this is hard to tell from online but the hotel is on the side of a busy road with a cement barrier so it was very difficult to arrange grab/bolt/taxi etc and would walk to an easier location for pickup. The hotel told us they have a taxi partner but it was only available for a few hours in the afternoon and we were not offered any further suggestions.
Asked to pay for a room upgrade for any of our three nights and were told there are none available. We have been travelling Thailand for a few weeks and didn’t have any memorable complaints about our accommodations except here. and based off reviews and photos this hotel was the least of my worries.
Also the Fridge (no freezer) didn’t work while key card is not in the room so we asked for another but this should be standard for all guests.
We could have been fairly satisfied with our stay if only one or two of the above were present, plus a couple other minor issues like damaged fixtures, the glass water bottles that cannot be removed from the room ( and you will be charged for broken or missing bottles ) but we decided to leave a night early. We were told they could not refund our third night but we still decided to find somewhere...
Read moreThe main hotel was nice. Lovely staff and a beautiful pool. Good drinks from the bar/restaurant and breakfast was pretty good.
The normal rooms are completely misrepresented in the pictures, most of the photos are of upgrade rooms and not of the standard rooms. The room we stayed in was not suitable for 2 people. Everything in the room (other than the bed) was for 1 person. There was only one hanger for towels in the bathroom, only one toilet roll provided (which was extremely thin so was used very quickly) and not a lot of space in the room at all.
The air-conditioning was very noisy and woke us most nights (if we managed to get to sleep). We tried turning it off in the night too, but found that another noise took over - the sound of other people's air-conditioning which had to pass through our room.
I cannot fault the staff who were wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful, we asked for an upgrade rooms (which we would have paid for) but unfortunately the hotel was full.
The hotel is a fair distance from most things in Phuket, but close to a weekend night market which was brilliant on Saturday night - Friday night was OK, but much quieter. Otherwise you are looking at ordering taxis everywhere - the Grab app helped a lot with this.
Overall, due to the misrepresented room, I have given it 3 stars. We would have stayed somewhere else if the pictures of the room...
